For June 2012, I have an option going FCO-SIN direct, or making a stop to see Istanbul FCO-IST-SIN.

I need a good sleep to SIN. Do the planes going FCO-SIN (SQ365) and (ATH)-IST-SIN (SQ391) have the same seating in business (spacebeds)?

I don't want to stop in IST if it means crappy old plane IST-SIN.

As of late both routes are being operated by 772ER aircraft so YES they both have spacebeds.

Any chance of FCO-SIN changing to the latest business class by June 2012?

Not that I have heard. if you want the latest C product you have to fly from MXP. If this is going to be a paid ticket this should not be an issue and price difference bearable.

If this an award and assuming you would be using KF miles than you would end up paying double KF miles for a Standard C award on 77W from MXP over a Saver C award on 772ER from FCO. Up to you if you feel that the fully flat C seat is worth double the KF miles to you.

I am booked on aeroplan miles.

I find it strange that FCO is only twice a week with older seats, while MXP is every day with new seats. Is MXP a significantly larger market than FCO?

simple......

FCO = Leisure
MXP = Commerce

My SQ365 FCO-SIN flight got a strange schedule change a day or two ago.

Before:
11:45-06:30

After:
11:55-06:00

Looks like the flight became 40 minutes shorter. How is that? Or, is it a sign of an aircraft change, even though it still shows 772ER?

I just flew this route (literally! I'm sitting in Singapore Airport now waiting for my connecting flight). I had the new departure time of 11:55 and it's still on the 772ER. We even arrived around 05:30!!
