DL's HNL-FUK service is "seasonal" while HA's is slated to be "permanent." ;)

Although seasonal, DL's service does have the advantage of offering a full international business class product as opposed to HA's more or less domestic F arrangements. That may or may not be a big deal, however, this being a tourist route and DL being notoriously stingy on international upgrades and business class awards at low mileage levels. Time will tell.

Nice to see HA will be offering HNL-FUK service too. I would also not be suprised to see DL drop their service in the future.

Great to see HA finally building their markets in Japan.

I agree. HA has already served to HND, KIX, ICN, MNL, SYD and now FUK. Who could be next a new route to be announced? How about HKG, TPE, PVG, PEK, NGO, MEL, BNE, CNS, AKL, CHC.

I think the expansion into emerging markets is a great idea, but i wonder how successful permanent daily service out of Fukuoka will be. I understand you wrangle all the tourists coming out of Kyushu, but i think a better route would have been HKG.

HKG would be awesome. HA needs to break into China, fast.

I agree. Let's wait and see. If HA can have a consider to start more new nonstop from HNL-HKG, if necessary. If they have enough aircraft availability. Could be freeing up some 767 or A330 aircraft to fly elsewhere.

Wishes HA lease some A340s for now, in order to fly HNL-HKG nonstop until their A350s arrive. :p

Actually, I think HA will bring a wet lease ex-JJ A340-500 or somehow. Just only for the temporarily.

That would be awesome! And configure it with real International First Class as well. ;)
