I've been fighting a sinus infection since last week, and after a trip to urgent care on Sunday, I'm now on antibiotics and cough medicine with codeine.

Since I've been sick, I've not been really hungry, but when I am hungry, I've found my cravings to be for all sorts of things horrible for me, like Big Macs, hot fudge sundaes, and french fries. I've not been craving anything like that in months.

Anyone else have similar experiences, or does anyone know why I'd be craving things that I've not craved in months while I'm sick?

Well for the sinus I recommend some tea with ginger and vitamin C. Seems to work for me...

As for your food cravings, must be psychological in my opinion. But, your state of being could be causing your body to produce less endorphins, which could lead to cravings of these foods to make you "happier"; such as a Happy Meal from mcd.

I don't know if some of it is comfort food, or if it's simply that because I'm fighting something, my body is craving extra calories and fuel. I did give in on Sunday and Monday, but today, since I'm feeling a bit better, I'm back to my normal way of eating. I am going to have chicken barley soup today though. :)
