South - ATL - what to do overnight, no hotel

So my friend and I took advantage of the $150 tix to spend a night in ATL. We arrive at 10pm on Saturday and leave at 6am Sunday. 8 hours of fun. Our plan is to go into the city (hopefully there's cheap public transportation) and go out to the clubs/bars then come back and catch our flight home. But I'm trying to figure out what to do with my stuff...

I'll bring a laptop, toothbrush, glasses/contacts, and probably an extra shirt/underwear to change into. Possibly sandals as I hate to wear shoes on planes.

I think we're in/out of the Continental terminal. Do they have lockers for short term use? Or will CO let me check in a bag at 10pm for a 6am flight (ie, I could at least check back in my extra clothes but still not sure what I'd do w/my laptop).

Any advice/suggestions?

Do you want to go clubbing, or are you going out to avoid hotel costs?

If it's the latter, ATL has some cheap hotels -- it's not uncommon to get an airport hotel for $50, or even $35 + tax via Priceline.

Combination of both, but we actually do want to go clubbing...the friend I'm going with would never do a MR, so I sold this cheap vacation to him as a cheap/quick/fun weekend with one night of fun.

Just an FYI, MARTA (Atlanta Subway) is NOT 24 hours. I believe the first train back to ATL in the morning doesn't arrive there until 5:40 or so. You can get downtown from ATL easily but heading back might require a cab.

Your departure time rules out taking the MARTA subway back to the airport - on Sunday mornings, the first train does not arrive until 6:35 AM, according to the airport station page on MARTA's website. (http://itsmarta.com/ne-air.aspx)

Also, do you know anything about Atlanta clubs, where you want to go? Our bars close at 2:30AM, I believe. You could go to a strip club/dance club type thing that would be open later but that's about it.
