I know that it is a major crude oil place but are the hotel prices per day for real? Has anyone recently stayed in a reasonably priced hotel, rental apartment?....issues of security, electric supply and aircondition are important for a 10 day-stay.
Any info.will be appreciated.

In my experience, there's no way round this - you get what you pay for, and in PH, of all places, I am prepared to pay for security, reliable electricity and internet.

Please tell me you're on business, not a tourist...

Mrs havepointswilltravel had to go to Port Harcourt and that meant that I had to go.
Spent 10 days at a place called NIMA Suites and Hotel in Woji. It is not close to anything. The road as with all roads in Nigeria was horrendous.
However, it was comfortable and quiet .Security was OK....got back to USA in one piece. Electricity was reliable, hot and cold water, erratic internet service and unwanted roomates... big rats/mice...not sure of the genus. Not as big as the ones in NYC.
For $38 a night, a bargain with lots of prayer. The Airport horror story with 7 checkpoints where you must pay "tolls" to "officials" is for another forum.
