Asiana Club - Newbie Question - Miles for Upgrade

Sorry for the newbie question. I have a 50% off seat upgrade award, and sufficient miles to pay the rest. I plan to fly LHR - ICN - NRT, the return NRT - ICN (STOP) ICN - LHR. I have found a good fare, but wonder how I go about getting an upgrade for miles? I have searched on the Asiana website (no joy other than knowing the amounts) and have tried calling (no answer).

Any help would be appreciated.

Keep on calling. Upgrades will have to be booked over the phone or in writing.

I think I have managed it, and I am massively excited. First time in longhaul J for me & first time on Asiana.

What should I expect on LHR - ICN legs? And then on the hop from Korea to Japan and back?

OZ is now deploying the new QS seats to LHR once a week. Check the schedule and try to be on that flight.

Otherwise you might end up with old hardware but still the fantastic OZ service.

My schedule isn't flexible. I fly on Sunday and return on Friday.

I am sure whatever they have in terms of hardware it will be better than any Y seat I would otherwise fly.

AVOD is also not a big deal - the less there is to do, the more sleep I get! :D

Does staggered seatmap in J mean QS? If so, I have it on the 29th.

I also have managed to reserve 2k on a flight from NRT to ICN. Is that a first class seat with J service?

Staggered seat map is QS. As far as 2K goes, you could also be on an OZ 333 or 772 old config in C. If it's on a 3 class 772 or 744/74M, then it's an F seat with C service.
