Middle East - Apt in Amman

I may need to rent an apt in Oct. for 3wks and would like to be in an interesting, walkable part of the city but am not sure where that is? I've visited Amman, but only briefly, and stayed at the Hyatt so did not see too much around that area. Any suggestions on apts and/or the desirable area to be in? I would like to be able to walk to interesting shopping/souks, etc. Thanks.

I am sorry if this is too late, but anywhere near Rainbow Street would be ideal. The area has restaurants, bars, shopping. At the end of the road there are steps that provide easy access to downtown Amman where you can get great Hummus, cheap DVDs, walk to some Roman Ruins, and I also heard there is a Pakistani restaurant in downtown, but I have not gone when visiting Amman.

Thanks and I did finally find out Rainbow St is a good area to be near so I've rented an apt within a 15min walk.
