My flight is at 1825 on a Saturday. What time would be best to leave, 3pm or even earlier? I plan to spend a short time in the BA F lounge.

At that hour of the day from downtown to IAD, it shouldn't take more than 40 mins, assuming to major traffic snarls on I-66. There is roadwork on I-66 and the DAR (Dulles Airport Road) related to the construction of the new metro to the airport, but that generally hasn't been too bad of late. GodAtum Sep 5, 11, 11:44 pm About 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. Thanks for the advise, it's my first time in DC so I have no idea on trip times to anywhere, only what it says on Google maps! Often1 Sep 10, 11, 9:43 am Give yourself 45 mins for the cab ride, 5 mins for check-in (since you are in F), 30 mins (which is way too long, but never hurts to plan, 5 mins more to the gate. Call that 90 minutes. Add to that whatever time you want to spend in the F lounge. My recommendation: it's a Saturday in the fall in DC, enjoy yourself in DC. You'll have plenty of food & drink on the aircraft, so why not go straight to the gate and forget about the lounge. |
