Mexico - CUN transfer to Cozumel

It came out way cheaper for me to fly to CUN than to CZM, how do I transfer from the airport to Cozumel Palace hotel?

depending on the savings you received this may or may not have been a good decision. transfering from cun to that hotel can be time consuming and expensive by land if there are several of you. If you saved less than 50 usd a person you will spend that much pp from cun to cozumel (not the hotel) by land at minimum. once in cozumel another $20 -$40 to get to the hotel taxi ride.

You will need to catch a flight from CUN or get a way to one of the ferries that goes to Cozumel.

It looks like you can do a ferry from Puerto Morales or Play de Carmen. But first you have to get to those places. It will tale about two or three hours from the airport to get to a ferry terminal then across to Cozumel, then you have to get to the hotel.

Allow 4 hours for the land/sea transfer from CUN to hotel in CZM. Figure approx. $75 presuming the land portion to Playa del Carmen will be for 2+ people. Bigger issue is on the return making sure that you've got reliable service lined up at Playa del Carmen back to CUN.

while i dont mean to worry you, i live in playa del carmen. while all the options you have been given are solid, the point is that there really is no savings by booking a flight to cun unless it was hundreds and you have no rush to get from/to. if you want to save money and have nk problem with time, take th bus from the airport to playa del carmen (tourist bus ado) $13 pp, then walk to the ferry, take te feryy to cozumel ( $20 pp) and then a taxi to tbe hotel (15 - 25 ).

any other option than the one above will double the price.

one last option, but might defeat the purpose of saving money would be to take maya air from cancun to cozumel (15 minutes).

Looks to me as though (unless you are taking local bus from CUN-Playa del Carmen), round-trip cost from CUN to CZM will be $240 and take roughly 4 hours in each direction. Don't know how much you saved with your CUN vs. CZM ticket, but it may be worth looking at cost and options direct to CZM given the cost and the fact that on the RT you lose an entire day.

Flying from TLV it was 4 segments to CZM (with an overnight in ORD) vs 2 segments (TLV-EWR-CUN) I also am upgraded via my UA SWUs that are expiring in two months. good deal all in all for sure.

after my stay in Cozumel I am staying a few days in Cancun so returning via CUN anyway and not under time pressure.

Maya air is about $50 pp vs bus and ferry $33 certainly worth it (except I land 1230 and will miss the 1300 flight and next one is 1600...). Taxi in Cozumel will need anyways

Can you purchase Maya air tix at the airport?

I land 1230, will miss the 1300 flight so will have to wait till 1600

If I take the bus and ferry route there is a ferry at 1500

Either way I arrive more or less within an hour to hotel, the delta cost between bus/ferry and maya air flight is a non issue but the bus/ferry seems like a better way to get to know the area (and if I am dead tired I can just attempt to take the flight, see first question above)

bus/ferry is a great option to see the area and yes you can buy maya air tix at airport if you arrive tired.
