Just remember:
You have to register for Grand Slam
You have to follow US on Twitter and include @USAirways in your response.
The person in the picture doesn’t have to be you; it can be anyone holding a US Airways sign.
If you’re not going to a baseball game this week you can get creative and take a picture at a little league or softball game.
If you win, you'll receive 500 bonus miles and 1 hit in the Grand Slam promotion
Twitter promotion runs from September 2 – September 9, 2011

You have to tweet the photo, and it'll be the first 110 to do so in chronilogical order. Tweets are timestamped, of course.
Little league season is over, the Diamondbacks are away for the weekend. I'd go do this for the hit but I have no clue what to do.

I think the question is, how will they match a successful tweet to a US account? If my tweet is successful, I'm hoping for a message via twitter asking for acct number.
I'm hoping they'll be lenient on the judging. I drove by the local minor league park and got a pic standing in front of it.
You could also swing by the your local softball fields, maybe there will be games there tonight...

And they should not get a hit. The criteria is pretty clear:
"Tweet a picture from a game holding a US Airways sign"
and
"The person in the picture doesn’t have to be you; it can be anyone holding a US Airways sign."

As asked above, how will USAirways get winners' names and DM accounts? Twitter doesn't allow PMs unless each member follows the other's feed, but USAirways isn't following early winners' feeds, which we'd see publicly. Will USAirways have to add winners' feeds to even PM for DM info?
Second question: When searching Twitter for "@USAirways," you see chronological tweet results, including contest submissions. Is this the reliable way to know if we're in the first 110?

You can print our sign instead of making your own,

When you win a Twitter contest, the sponsor (@USAirways in this case) will follow you and then send you a DM (Direct Message akin to a PM).
They don't need to follow winners initially. They'll simply do a search and go chronologically to choose winners. There are T&C's both from US Airways about this particular contest and Twitter.com for how companies are to run contests like this.
There are plenty of search tools out there, besides Twitter.com which is kind of limited.

The point is that I thought it was highly unlikely that the guy holding that sign at the game was holding up a "US AIRWAYS" sign! And as it turns out, he was not! See here. (http://www.courierpress.com/photos/2011/jun/21/89544/?enlarge=0)

With the original tweet having gone out before noon yesterday, and only 110 winners, odds are they've already hit that quota. Just waiting to see if they contact folks. I think I was about the 5th to respond but my picture might not qualify. Anyway if you're not already in on this, by all means tweet away but I'd bu surprised if this isn't a done deal already.
As for how to search for the first 110, searching twitter for @usairways gives a rough estimate but twitter has some weird replication issues, so I would use numbers from there as rough estimate only and not 100% accurate. You and I can search at the same time and I might find a different result than you do.

I disagree completely! To get a hit, you have to get a picture of someone holding a "US AIRWAYS" sign at a baseball or softball game. That's a tall order on Labor Day weekend. All those already tweeted pics posted of "US AIRWAYS" advertising signage at sports arenas do not meet the criteria of the promo. I especially laughed at the photo posted from a basketball game. The promo is called "Grand Slam" -- not "Slam Dunk"! :D

Considering anyone can be in the picture, can't we just tweet a link to anyone's picture holding a US Airways sign, i.e. just lookup some of the existing pics and tweet with a link?
It doesn't seem in violation of the rules listed on the page: http://www.usairways.com/en-US/dividendmiles/grandslam-twitter.html?c=tweet_dm_21055_09012011 and still accomplishes their goal of tweeting about the promotion.

It's officially live until Sept. 9, according to the rules, even if 110 valid entries are already in, because US Airways wants publicity from the extra entries and will promote away no matter when the threshold's met. No harm in still entering, but it's possible the ceiling's hit, despite Twitter reminders.

Good point about the desire for publicity, but I'd bet it's still live. Getting 110 valid entries over the holiday weekend was not an easy task. It's not easy to find a live baseball/softball game over Labor Day Weekend!

I just got a twitter message from US asking for name & div miles number, so my pic was accepted. I sent it early (Friday), but it showed me outside the ballpark, no actual game going on. So as I had hoped and expected, it looks like they're being fairly lenient on what photos to accept.
