Although it's not on Hilton's web site yet, I saw in a print ad that this property is opening in "Spring of 2002." Has anyone actually seen a date yet?
This should be a welcome alternative to the DT City Center and Valley DT, as well as the nearby Hampton Inn.

Great! I am staying at the Doubletree in the valley, which frankly is a hole. They are very nice to me there, but the rooms are run down and I really think they have never changed the filters in their heaters. I wake up every morning stuffed up.
Have you stayed at the downtown Hilton?

Actually there is no downtown Hilton, only the DT. While not a hole (I absolutely agree about the Valley property, which used to be a Red Lion) the Downtown DT has seen better days. It was originally a Sheraton, built for the 1974 World's Fair. The rooms are a little beat up and could use some work, even on the "Executive Floor." Don't get me started about the heaters!
This has been my hotel of choice however, mainly because of HH. The HH concierge lounge has a nice buffet breakfast and the evening reception is pretty nice too. I've always had a heck of a time wrestling any goodies from the Valley property.
I drove by the site of the new HGI property, near GEG. It's still wrapped in plastic tarp, so it looks like it'll be a while yet before opening. But for a fridge and microwave, I'll wait patiently.

Got an upcoming trip planned for this property and was wondering if anyone had anything to report. Especially interested in info about the room types, perks, food, any problems encountered, etc. Thanks!
