Hilton HHonors - What % of stays do not post?
What is the % of your stays that do not automatically post? Seems like mine are running 25-30%. Have had no problem getting Hilton to credit them, but was wondering how everyone else was doing. 25-30% seems kind of high to me.
I don't spend a lot of nights in hotels. With that qualification, I have had to contact HHonors about 65% of the time. They are always gracious and efficient, and the credits have always been credited post haste. So I don't begrudge them (but I do always check after them). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I had fourteen stays in 2001. All posted without any action on my part. Sometimes they took a while though. I recall one taking six weeks.
Jeez, was I just lucky?

My experience has been that 100% of my stays have posted and quickly, sometimes unbelievably quickly. YEMV.

1 out of every 7-8 stays do not post and require me to email Hilton to get credit.

In my experience, about one in ten stays does not post automatically (a couple properties are particular bad offenders). A quick call to the HHonors CS or a missing stay request through their web site always provides a fix.

0% of my stays have not posted over a 3 year period.
The only problem I had was trying to get a mileage award posted to AA during the AA 20/20 promo last year. That took 8 weeks, 3 emails and 3 phone calls to accomplish.

On this topic I queried Hilton about some recent non-credit stays I reserved through Expedia and found out that some rates offered on Expedia are NOT eligible for HHonors points nor is counted as a credited stay for elite status

Not one of my stays last year posted CORRECTLY. Some did not post at all and those that did were wrong. After phone calls, all but one were corrected, but why can't they get this right?
I am a frequent guest at two other chains and have never had a problem with their postings.

17 stays in 2000 and 19 stays in 2001 all except one posted without further contact with HHonors, the one expection I was a guest of Park Place ( Paris LV) and not sure I had gave my HHonors card at check.
Some problems though in late 2000/early 2001 with airline miles, wanted NWA miles and kept getting AA even when I kept updating my profile.

I had 101% of my stays post last year automatically. How is this possible, well apparently when I thought I was at home I had a stay at the Hampton Inn in Seattle and charged it to an Amex card that I never knew I had. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I agree with Sylvest941 UK Hiltons are hopeless at posting stays but Fax a folio to the Glasgow Service centre and its on within a day or two.

The posting is fantastic! Hampton Inn posted in less than 24 hours. They all post now. Three years ago it was a mess. The only problem currently is the car rental 250 bonus seems to never post. And sometimes the double miles post with just 500 miles not the 1,000. I am very happy though they are the greatest at giving away mountains of points.

Check the "CR" block on your folio statement at check-out. Make sure it is filled with the car rental company 2-letter code (e.g., "NA" for National), then your 250 bonus points will post together with the rest of the points for that stay. Sometimes front desk employees need to be educated on this thing, but it always works.
Ditto on the UK Hiltons !!
I've had 5 stays so far this year - 2 x Dublin and 1 x New York have posted, but earlier (!) stays at the Hilton Strathclyde and EDI airport are nowhere to be seen (yet!)

I have stayed about for 4 times at the Montreal Bonaventure Hilton, and only the first time did I get the points automatically posted... I have stayed at the Conrad in Singapore in between the Montreal stays and got my points after 2 days...
What's going on with the Montreal Hotel???
I, too, can echo the Montreal problems... but HHonors always got the points into the account after a call. My own personal experience? Of 29 stays last year, 3 didn't post promptly and had to have action on my part. That's not great, but not terrible, considering the effort I go to with car rentals, airlines, etc.

For the UK Hiltons I usually give it 4 weeks and then fax the folio in for credit.
You will need to send Frequent Flyer information and a copy of the reservation confirmation if you want the on-line booking bonus.

Reno Hilton: 0% post until you e-mail HHonors. The desk clerk takes all of the info (HHonors and frequent flyer account numbers) when you check in but someone in the office deletes it all when you check out unless you are foolish enough to pay rack rate. Despite the sign outside saying "Hilton," the hotel staff claims it's really a Park Place Hotel. The property was a Bally's in a former life. Maybe they should revert to that name rather than pretend to be a Hilton.
The Flamingo (Hilton) Reno has been sold and is now closed for renovation. The new owner intends to "...rebrand the property as a four-star hotel, such as a Sheraton or a Crowne Plaza." It would be great to have a Starwood property in Reno. Platinum beats Diamond every time!

I was 10 for 10, no problems, gotta love them even giving me all sorts of bonus points for the entire years worth of stays, even before my qualifying for elite status.. Kinda nice.
