I'm a SPG gold member, but I am going to be in the Boston area for 2 weeks for work. I will be staying at the Hawthorne Suites. Could anybody from here please let me know what your recommendations would be to maximize any points/miles that I could receive? I am not a Hilton member at the current time. Thanks.

From what I understrand Hawthorn Suites do NOT give hilton Honors points...altho they are owned by Hillton..unless that has changed recently./

Now I'm confused... Since when Hawthorn Suites chain is owned by Hilton??? AFAIK, Hawthorn (http://www.hawthorn.com/) is franchised by the U.S. Franchise Systems, Inc. (http://www.usfsi.com) in Atlanta, and all properties are individually owned and operated.

Idsant, You on to something? I did not see it in my USA. Missed it or perhaps it was targeted to a particular region. Can you find the add and post the gist of it? thx

eugene is correct. Hawthorn does not belong to the HH family.

I've stayed there once...not too impressed either...i'd suggest you to move to a HH property if you want to earn HH points...

Most miles and points in two weeks. Sign up for all Hilton bonuses, call try to comp gold. Stay at two different Hilton properties, changing hotels each night. Book all hotel stays online. After just 14 stays with the double stay credit in the first quarter you will be Diamond, with a whole bunch of points and miles. Good luck remembering where you are going after two weeks, but this can be done.

Not exactly... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Double stay credit (either for the month of January, or for the first quarter) is a targeted promo for current Golds and Diamonds. Generally available promo is "only" for double miles during the first quarter.
