Hi,
I booked the special 3 night $99 promotional deal at Orlando Hilton Grand Vacations Club, where you have to take a 90 minute tour about timeshares. When I booked with Barbara at Hilton Grand Vacations, I was told that I would get HHonors points for the stay. When I checked in they said that no points are allowed for the timeshare promotional rate, but they said they would part my HHonors number in anyway. Has anyone received points for this $99 plus tax promo?

Reserved to stay at Las Vegas Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Hilton is sold out July 28-30. Never stayed at a GVC before and wanted to make sure:
1. would receive HHonors points as I would at any Hilton
2. do not have to sit through a 90 minute presentation or anything
Still participating in the Hilton 50k promo so really need the points, especially since cancelling reservation at MGM Grand as they no longer give AA miles!

If it is such a small world, why have I been on this airplane for more than 12 hours?!?

If you got one of their "packages" that state you will need to go to a presentation,do not expect stay credit or points. If you booked through HH,you will receive credits. Nice property. Much nicer than Hilton.

Thanks, booked online via www.hilton.com (http://www.hilton.com) so relieved to get miles for stay. Didn't know they were all suites! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

If you have a "studio" unit booked, don't expect what you usually would with a suite...it's the 2nd bedroom lockoff of a 2-br unit..nicer than a room at the LV Hilton, but not what you'd normally expect as a "suite."

If you have staus make sure they know. They've always upgraded me to a very nice suite.

I have stayed at the ones behind the Flamingo before and thought that they were very nice. The all have jacuzzi tubs, nice sized kitchen and there you also have access to the Flamingo's pool.

...but its been over three weeks and no points have posted. Has anyone else managed to get points from an HGVC stay. I know that the nights don't generate points but I thought that any purchases to your room do.

You have to call HHonors Customer Service and have them adjust your account. I stayed at the HGVC in Orlando in May and my HHonors number didn't appear on my statement. I called customer service and gave them the details about my stay and it posted when I finished the call.

Staying @ the HGVC Jan 10-14th & I was told by the Rep that I could earn points for my stay.
Does anyone have any evidence that you can't get points for a stay @ HGVC?
Also - are HHonors Gold Members entitled to anything at all @ HGVC properties?
Thanks!

You would get points at HGVC for a PAID stay...

Seem to remember that when you participate in a sales presentation, they give you a large number of HH points. How can one get the most, especially in Las Vegas?

Amazingly, this info is readily available on the HGVC website.

We just redeemed a free night stay at the Embassy Suites Orlando International Drive. As we checked in we received a card for 500 HH points to check at the guest services desk for our "free gift" (a Hilton luggage name tag) and they tried to sell us one of the HGVC vacations like the ones listed on the internet. When we didn't bite at that, and said we were only interested in the points, they offered us 20k HH points to tour the HGVC property in Orlando the next day. Took 2 hours total, and in 6-8 weeks we should have our 20k with no out of pocket expense at all. Even have a receipt, good points/time ratio http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Wonder if you can do this anywhere in Vegas?

Just suffered through a presentation at HGVC in LV last week. The property is on the opposite side of the parking garage from the Hilton, though they're actually selling shares in a new property being built on the strip. There's a desk inside the hotel, I think it's where the East and North towers split off. You should be able to get 15K points out of a tour, though I had signed up under a different offer and did not.

Currently there are offers in Vegas, Orlando, and Hawaii. -
http://www.hgvcoffers.com/splash/
Orlando: 4 Days/3Nights plus 15K points for $229
Las Vegas: 3 Days/2 Nights plus 10K points for $129 midweek. Weekend rate is $169 for the same duration but no points.
Hawaii (HHV): 6 Days/5 Nights plus 20K points for $599 Studio, $999 1 BR.
If you have the constitution for a timeshare presentation, this may be appealing. Rentals are advertised on the website but no pricing is provided (other than the solicitation deals above).

I am an HGVC Orlando member, and I usually never charge anything to my room. Well, a few weeks ago, my wife and I went to the HGVC Las Vegas at the LV Hilton. With the monorail now operational, the Hilton might as well be on the strip.
My question is, I charged almost $100 to my HGVC room from the Hilton itself. Should I get HHonors points for this? My thought would be yes, but I'm not sure so I thought I'd ask the experts.
Separately, do HGVC stays count toward HHonors stays if incidentals are charged?
TIA

Thanks UpgradeMe for the use of the search feature with I swear I tried first.
I wondered if anybody had any other recent experience or if there was any new news here. As your search identified, there does seem to be a lot of ambiguity regarding what happens...

I've reserved a room for February at the HGVC at the Las Vegas Hilton due to a sell out in the main hotel. Can you tell me if this stay will acrue Honors Points. I thought that they didn't in NYC and was wondering if the same is true here. Thanks.

Have stayed at the HGVC at the Las Vegas Hilton and also the new one on the Strip. Each reservation was made through the Hilton website and on both occasions have received HHonors points without any problems. Both properties are very impressive.

It depends. If you reserved through the standard Hilton website or Hilton central reservation phone number, then yes. If you called the HGVC properties directly, HGVC website (which is considered "timeshare rental"), or any other non-HH site, then no, at least in my experience.

Just wondering...do I earn Hilton HHonors points for the payment that I make for a stay that is done in conjunction with a preview tour at a Hilton Grand Vacations Club property? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

If you're talking about a highly discounted stay (say 3 nights for $159 or something similar) that is in return for taking the timeshre tour, then the answer is no....If you're adding nights at regular rate that you booked on hilton.com, then the answer would be yes on those...
Bottom line is that you only earn HHonors points at HGVC locations when you book them at hilton.com and pay regular rates..

Sometimes you can negotiate points into the stay - timeshare "orientation". I did once, but getting them to actually post them took several calls and some upset.

I have a new favorite hotel in Las Vegas, the HGVC at the Flamingo. Great location, amenities and full access to the Flamingo for pool, room charges etc.
I have stayed there twice and found out yesterday I need to head back to Vegas tomorrow. A quick glance at my online statement and I do not see points earned for the previous stays. The stays show up on my account but there is no e-folio available and no points listed in the activity section.
I am getting ready to submit a missing credit request but will not know in time for this trip. Can anyone here advise if a stay at HGVC booked through Hilton Website as a hotel is or is not eligible for points?
If not I need to stay elsewhere.
Thanks,

I don't believe they count for points or stay credit.
We had booked a stay at the Hilton Waikoloa, and they offered us to upgrade to a HGVC stay. We ended up not getting stay credit or points, but the 2 room suite was well worth the upgrade!

My last time in Orlando at a HGVC, booked a paid stay via the HH website, at a double-HH points rate.
Not sure about the timeshare promo rates, though.

I'm staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations ClubŪ on the Las Vegas Strip tonight, and it is showing in my Travel Summary online. But it is not giving me an e-checkin option. I made this reservation last Friday, using the Hilton USA Swimming website, and all other reservations I've done that way do give the e-checkin option and post automatically.
I'll be sure to hang onto my receipt just in case I have a problem with the stay posting. Typically my stays post in 1-2 days. Has anyone had a HGVC stay post automatically?

Stayed at the hotel this past February and they didn't post to my account either (but it did show up in my previous stays). I called customer service and they added the points within minutes, I didn't need to fax anything either.

My last stay credit and points in October last year at the HGVC on the Las Vegas Strip didn't post. Phoned HHonors and they added the points and stays manually after confirming the reservation. My most recent stay in May at the HGVC at Sea World in Orlando posted automatically after about a week. If they are booked throught the Hilton website, you are entitled to the points and stay/nights credit.

I stayed at the HGVC at the Las Vegas Hilton on 4/30 for one night.
It took 5 weeks for the points/stay to post and that was only after emailing the resort manager three times, and Guest Assistance once. :(
Two years previously I had to go through the same rigamorole.
They were both very nice upgraded stays, though.
