And no stay credit, either. Although I once forgot to cancel a res, and got charged as a no-show. Since I stayed at the particular property often, I talked with the manager. We agreed that I would pay (it was my own fault) but he would 'fix' it so that I appeared to have stayed that night, and I would up getting both points and stay credit. And, if you're doing a matress run, make sure your physically check in, otherwise you'll have paid for nothing. sdsearch Sep 3, 11, 10:21 pm And there's no big difference in this between a prepaid stay and one where you just went past the cancellation deadline. Whether they charge up front or whether they charge the night you were supposed to show up but didn't, the result is the same: By default, no show = no points or miles or stay credit. And it's not just Choice. That's the way it works at most hotel programs. Firewind Sep 3, 11, 11:20 pm Is the prepaid option always available? I ask because, before I discovered it handled as a promotion, I was going to post, "Um... where do you find this? I never get it as an option in the drop-down box." I hadn't noticed it before. But seeing it in a panel ad as a promotion causes me to ask this. (Probably a moot question, anyway, because in my experiments, I haven't found an instance where it yields an advantage -- and who would want to commit at 7, 14, 21 or 30 days out when the affinity groups yield the same or better?) Thank you. |
