Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - Upgrade Awards

Hello all!

I was just wondering if the C fare bucket can be upgraded into if you are a FB Elite, or is that just for complete award bookings?

I am a DM on Delta, and was wondering if I would be considered FB elite when making an upgrade, and if I was just limited to the O bucket.

In addition, does anyone have a chart that lists the costs of upgrading from ATL-CDG and back on November 17 and November 27, respectively?

Unfortunately for you, being DM is being ST Elite Plus, not FB Elite... So only the O bucket will be available for your awards/upgrades.

And AF does not have a standby upgrade program, but upgrades have been sold last minute on some flights recently. I don't know if it was done for ATL-CDG.

ATL-CDG inventory seems to suck, but oh well, I guess PV won't be THAT bad. :]

For upgrades there is only the O bucket, for everybody. FB elites have a higher O bucket availability though.

And do you still get the miles for the travel class you paid for?

I can imagine that not; but that, essentially, raises the cost in miles of the award upgrade. Not to mention the fact that you'd be getting status miles if you stayed in your paid economy...

you do earn miles for your original booking class, both award miles and qualifying miles.

Check back often as AF is releasing O-class < 1 week before the flight. If you have a DL ticket you can upgrade W-class on DL-code or W/S-class on AF code (but NOT A-class) to O-class using your PU503s. If you see O-class availability then call Delta DM services and ask them to upgrade you and re-issue the ticket asap. Good luck, ATL-CDG should be easy that time of the year, just wait until closer to the departure to request it.
