Has anyone stayed at the Hilton San Jose
& Towers recently? (In the last 12 months)

If so how was the property and if you are a Diamond did you get an upgrade to a suite or
to the Towers?

What tips can you offer a fellow Diamond to make sure I stand a good chance of getting an upgrade?

I stayed there last spring. The front desk clerk was not very helpful. I had to tell him about the benefits that a Gold member is entitled to before he reluctantly upgraded me to the Towers floor. The Towers floor rooms are fine, standard size, and had feather beds, if I remember correctly. It is a nice property and the Towers floor staff was great.

Once I got past the front desk, everything went well. I hit Diamond in September, but have not been back to see if the treatment would be different for a Diamond.

You know, if you're willing to drive a little, I always stay at the Hilton Santa Clara whenever I'm in Si valley. It's a gorgeous hotel. No suites, but the rooms are awesome, the staff is really nice, and they have a good wine list. Gotta keep the priorities in order. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hilton Santa Clara is nice and not too far away. If you are paying for yourself, you might check out the Westin Santa Clara (5*) via Priceline - you can usually get <$50/night.

No Way <$50 dollars per night on priceline?
As William Shatner said...time to bust a move to Priceline http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif

Capetown,

I'vee stayed here twice in the past few months. As a Gold, (I'm Diamond now), I was upgraded both times. However, one of the times I was given a non Exec. room, went into it and found a fault, went back to the front desk and was given a an Exec. room. So, you could always fall back on that technique. The top two floors, 17 & 18 I believe, are the Exec. floors which are very nice. The rooms have a fax/printer in them with the driver disks so you can use them with your laptop. As long as you book the room through the Hilton network, you should be able to get upgraded. Make sure and ask at checkin. Good luck!
