For backward-looking availability of fully flat beds, here is recent statistics for your destinations:
ftdashboard.net/ay/dest/pek.htm (http://ftdashboard.net/ay/dest/pek.htm)
ftdashboard.net/ay/dest/del.htm (http://ftdashboard.net/ay/dest/del.htm)
(You will notice some data errors, but the overall patterns should be clear)

Gosh I must check out this dashboard...
So this basically means that the flat bed or not depends on the day in question....?

It indeed depends on the day. If you already have bookings, the seat map on AY's MMB will tell you if it will be fully flat: 1-2-1 and 2-1-2 rows are, while 2-2-2 are not.
If you do not have a booking but have a subscription to ExpertFlyer, the seat maps are equally useful.
Please note, however, that configurations change every now and then. Better check seat maps just before you fly (if you really want to know)

I've understood AY's booking engine gives you the (hidden) information, "330" means an a/c with fully flat seats in J and "333" means angled seats. Can anyone confirm this?
The new fully flat seat is great when travelling alone but the angled version is not bad either, feels a bit wider actually I think.

I have the same experience, yes. But if someone doesn't want to subscribe to EF (USD 4,99 per month...) they can always make false bookings on finnair.com and check the seating before payment and then just cancel the booking.
As said many times here, nothing is 100% sure before the flight actually takes place and equipment changes can happen but it'll give you good indication anyway.

I can select 1AC in new config. Should I change and select them?
Currently selected 7AC (and 5AC on return).

1AC are very good, the only slight issue might be traffic/noise/smell etc. to/from galley/toilets but usually that's not bad. I'd choose 1AC over 5/7 myself but as with almost anything YMMV.

What about 1L vs 2L if you are by yourself? 1L has the desk on the window side whereas 2L has the desk on the aisle. Also it seems more private having a seat in front of you and I like the underseat storage. Any thoughts on being in the middle of the cabin in 4L vs 2L?

I've been in 2L when travelling by myself. It is very private and I would recommend it... or 4L, I guess is ok as well.

The new seat doesn't offer that much underseat storage, it's very tight space actually..the design is very much using all available space for the seat in front, except on row1 of course.
Personally I'd go for 2L, not for the storage but for the privacy. For night flight I'd be looking at the solo A-seats as I find them a bit better in terms of legroom for sleeping. Also 1L is an option for night flight.
For partner traveling I think the middle rows are better than AC, cause there you get two wide side consoles. AC only got one IIRC.

YMMV - some partners might prefer privacy over extra console space. ;)

You should also note that Finnair uses the a/c with fully flat beds regularly on leisure (charter) flights, especially the 3 with smaller business class - 32 seats (OH-LTS/LTT/LTU), which of course means chances on getting them on scheduled flights is slimmer.... The fourth (OH-LTR) has bigger C-class - 45 seats. The 4 other A330's have angled seats - 42 seats. All 7 of the A340 have the angled seats.
It is strange that a top product is used on charters, the only reason probably being that the others have more C-seats. Bad policy in my opinion, especially knowing that this top product will not been seen on other aircraft until new deliveries of the A350 some 4-5 years from now.

I think they mainly use the A330:s with more seats (overall) on the shorter daytime leisure flights, because the same plane usually becomes AY95 and BKK is in high season especially in Y.
I.e. the points is not the amount of C seats but the amount of total seats. LTS/LTT/LTU have 297 seats whereas LTR has 263 and the rest 271. Those 26-34 extra seats to the busy BKK route (and the charters) do bring in extra revenue. For the same (or opposite to be exact) reason LTR has not done a single charter or AY95 during the last 3 weeks.

Totally agree it is the total amount of seats that counts. They use the fully flat bed a/c also on Thailand charters to Phuket and Krabi, many flts a week... so basically it seems that your chances on getting fully flat on scheduled flts is not very high. My point is that they should install the top product on all of their A330 and A340's, more so because of the delays on the new A350 deliveries. Although it seems that AY is competing more on price than quality.

Sure, to each his own.
But remember that that the big consoles are so much wider/higher/deeper than the tiny armrests and thus enhancing your privacy...
