Italy - Vibrant Seaside towns in West Liguria

As the title suggests I'm looking for a vibrant seaside town in Wester Liguria. I just want a town with a decent nightlife and good beaches. I'll be headed there on the 5th september till the 14th.

Any ideas? I'll be flying into Milan and taking a train down there. I wouldn't mind going to Eastern Liguria but I'm going to France for two days and I fear the train travel would take to much time.

I might be wrong, but vibrant and Liguria are not going together that well...
Honeslty the only town that comes to mind is San Remo with its casino, otherwise there is hardly any night-life at all...especially in September that is already the end of season and the only tourists you would find in Liguria are pensioners.

I would go directly to France instead, Monte Carlo, Nice or Cannes are much more appropriate for what you are looking for.
