A Gulf Air plane has come off the runway at Kochi airport in the southern Indian state of Kerala, injuring at least seven passengers.

The papers this morning were saying preliminary reports were indicating 'pilot error'. Although it's probably far too early to tell.

Yeah, it was very wet (as I suppose it almost always is there). I happened to be in Cochin at the time, and the airport seems to have coped with the trouble reasonably well (given that they only have one runway). Flights were stopped until a little after noon. My flight at 23:40 was among the first that was on-time after all of the delays cascaded through the day; I expected bedlam at the airport, but didn't find this luckily.
