lately when I flew with Hawaiian Airlines, my boarding pass had the word "Preferred" under my HawaiianMiles number. What does this mean? Do I get special privilages?

I am a HawaiianMiles member, but with no status. I bought my ticket online at www.hawaiianair.com, with no affiliation. My boarding passes on HNL - OGG - HNL have "preferred" below my HawaiianMiles number.

Do you have an HA affiliated credit card? Although I no longer see any reference to it on HA or BofA, at one time a listed benefit of the BofA card was "Preferred" status; I think the Bankoh card had the same deal.

(What preferred status was worth was never ever clear; it seemed to be below Gold, with the only tangible benefit being (sometimes) the ability to pre-select seats at time of booking.)

Preferred means you have a Bank of America Hawaiian Airlines Credit Card, or a Bank of Hawaii Hawaiian Airlines Credit or Debit Card. This allows for marginally better seat selection when doing seat assignments. It also allows for a lower number of miles required for flights to the US Mainland (35K vs 40K) Saver Award RT. Finally, it allows you to accept miles (have miles transferred to your account) from other HawaiianMiles members up to 10 times per year.

Also 500 mile minimums for interisland travel.

Yeah! I was really surprised to see that they have switched to crediting actual miles for those without HA status or credit card.

A bit OT, do HA Premier Club members get early boarding?

Edited to add: Google was my friend. The answer is yes.

Yes they do. If you don't need the baggage feature you could simply purchase a bulkhead or exit row at the 24 hour checkin window and you receive priority boarding and a headset as well.
