EL AL Matmid - 6C on 744 any good?

Hello all - been a member for a while but never really spent any time here. I am a PL and my work brings me to Spain - usually by 737,757 or 767.
For the first time I will be flying a 744 to BCN and have been assigned seat 6C.
Is this a good seat? Are there any better options?
(I am flying Q class so I very much doubt that I will get an upgrade)

If you didn't get upgraded then this might be the ELH. There is a thread here about it. I'm not sure this is the best seat a PL can get.

first class on 747 are rows 2,3,4 so i dont know where you came up with this.

row 6 is on the 747 that elal usually uses for BKK. all economy downstairs.
row 6 is the first row.

may_east is correct. As you can see from SeatGuru (http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/El_Al/El_Al_Boeing_747-400.php), F is rows 2, 3, and 4, and C starts from row 10. Row 6 therefore can only be 4X-ELH, the "new" 744 plane with an all-Y downstairs. Which means you don't want this seat, because as has been reported (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/el-al-matmid/1241399-4x-elh-new-744-seat-configuration.html#post16986709), the front Y section has no PTVs.

(OT, anyone notice that ELAL.com (http://www.elal.co.il/NR/rdonlyres/281CE28E-26C9-4E11-9C64-E51C30CB9FB9/0/Plane747400.swf) claims 8 F seats/52 C seats, and SeatGuru claims 12 F and 49 C?)

yes - I am referring to the new 4X-ELH. Upstairs all C (no F) and downstairs all Y.
My question related to comfort - I will not be watching any movies so the lack of PTV is of no concern to me.

In that case, reports (second-hand) that the nose is great because the cabin feels very private, and those seats do have increased pitch.
