I rented a car from Alamo (apparently Europcar) that we'll be picking up at the London Victoria location and returning a couple days later at LHR. Our return flight to the USA is at 11:00 on a Tuesday morning. I'm reading some horror stories about long waits inside the Europcar office to return a car, and more delays with traffic in general and the shuttle service to the terminal.
In the U.S. there's usually an employee with a wireless computer processing the checkins right there in the return lane and it's usually no more than 5 minutes wait. Is it required you go inside the office to return a car, or can I do my routine like in the U.S. when the checkin takes too long and just walk away and let them process the car when they get to it? The only "status" I have with Alamo is as a frequent renter and an "Alamo Insider" LOL.
