EL AL Matmid - Sad News

I am here in Ashdod Israel and my Grandmother was admitted to the hosital in Los Angeles and passed away early this morning. I was wondering if someone here could help me with donating miles or a ticket as I am on a very limited budget and would need around trip TLV-LAX-TLV flight in a few weeks to attend the service. I don't want to end my volunteer/touring experience just because of this but I want to be there for the service.

My Grandfather said its cost prohibitive for him to fly me round trip. She was a Holocaust Survivor and lost her family in the war. I feel that I need to attend the service as her Grandson as my Brother and Parents will be there.

Please anyone at El Al if you can donate a ticket to a volunteer who will be helping children with disabilities and for someone who is thinking along the lines to become an Israeli Citizen this would help me tremendously.

I don't care how long it takes me to get to LA and Back. I can make the 14hr40 minute flight each way. Even if i need to take a week off I will.

Your assistance is most appreciative. I am going through an emotional time. As I have my return ticket on Lufthansa for January I don't want to pay the fee extend it buy another round trip ticket via FRA,BRU Etc. I need to take a non stop flight each way to maximize the time in LA.

Other relatives of mine will be there.

It's probably worth calling LY to see if they can help out with bereavement or compassion fares

I do remember a similar request from the op for a donation business class ticket not so long ago... And also bashing LY so lets see if they do help him. I really hope they do because LH definitely would'nt...

Very sorry for your loss. You might get better traction if you accepted connecting flights as well. Your two statements above seem contradictory.
