What have you looked at/tried? draerospace Aug 27, 11, 4:43 pm I will be trying to Milan, Italy on 09/01 - 09/09 , probably pick up the car at MXP airport , prefer unlimited km's , driving to swiss/france/germany . somehow all the van booking are either sold out for too expensive . I might have to go for mid-full size car , must be automatic with GPS . its my first time going to Milan, tho I have driven in frankfurt , Paris before. appreciated for your help , thanks in advance. YVR Cockroach Aug 27, 11, 10:39 pm Vans will be expensive, as will any vehicle with automatic transmission. AdMEL Aug 28, 11, 6:21 am Everything is going against you with your requirements. Booking time is too close and at the tail end of the summer peak season; most cars in Europe are manual (therefore automatic rental cars are very expensive - usually double or more) and vans are also in high demand resulting in lack of availability and high cost. I checked Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Sixt - doesn't appear to be any auto vans available for those dates that isn't horrendously expensive (Avis, Hertz & Sixt -not available; Europcar - EUR 3,000!). Sorry I can't be of any help. draerospace Aug 28, 11, 2:13 pm I decided to opt-out van rental , looking for automatic sedan with GPS/Unlimited Km's I checked Hertz.it , their rate is cheaper without any CDP code . at $500 Eur for C220 Benz , but when I applied the CDP (AMEX PLAT , AAA, or USAA ) price went up to $1100+ seems like there is no PC (discount) code works for this location Have you guys heard of izzirent.com , saw that app on ipad/iphone (not sure if its legit) JeffLoyd Apr 4, 12, 8:22 am I booked a car through Izzi Rent (http://www.izzirent.com) a few times so far. They compare rates from different local and global car rental companies all over the world like AutoEurope, EconomyCarHire, etc. |
