Korean Air Skypass - Combining Skypass Visa miles with KE's 'on metal' miles

I hope this makes sense as I often confuse myself just trying to phrase it correctly. So here's my situation:

I signed up for a Skypass account on korean air's website and received an account number. After I did this, I applied for a Skypass Signature Visa card.

1st question: When I received the card, it has a different BA number on it than what I have on the korean air site. Is this normal?

2nd question: How do you actually combine miles? Should they consolidate under one account or are they kept in two different locations and you use them at the same time or what?

I called Visa and they told me that the BA numbers aren't supposed to match, but I have found very little information on the actual combining of miles. Anyone have any insight? Would be much appreciated!

Skypass Visa Card issued in the US will have BA ##### .

For Skypass Visa Card, it is a "MUST" to have a BA account since BK is only for Koreans or people who reside in Korea. Basically you'll have two skypass account, and you can combine them (but only to BA #### account, thus deleting your BK ### account. You can do this by calling Korean air.

I didn't want to delete by BK Account (for reasons stated below) so I just had two accounts, and when I cancelled my US Bank Card couple of years later, I called the KE center and asked them to combine BA to BK account (deleting BA account).

There's no significant difference in having BA or BK Skypass account, but if you are Korean or reside in Korea and want to make a credit card related to KE, you may need the BK number (my case).

Unfortunately, There is no easy way of merging two accounts on KAL's website. You will need to fax a form of identification and the accounts you wish to combine. They will take care of it on their end. It took 3 days after I faxed the info to them. I had the same thing happen to me, I'm pretty sure when I applied for the sky pass visa I entered my ff number. Hope this helps.
