E-Rewards and E-Miles: How To Earn Two (2) Grand Slam Hits

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT:
You can earn a total of two (2) Grand Slam hits using survey partners
--one (1) hit through E-Miles
--one (1) hit through E-Rewards
In each of these survey programs, you complete surveys/offers to earn credits. After you have enough credits, you can manually redeem them for US Airways Miles.

BASIC PROCESS FOR EARNING ONE GRAND SLAM HIT via E-MILES:
1. Enroll as an e-Miles Member: You may...
--accept an e-Miles enrollment invitation (FROM US AIRWAYS ONLY!!!), or
--respond through an e-Miles Member referral, or
--visit the e-Miles.com website: www.e-miles.com (http://www.e-miles.com) and just sign up out of the blue (select US Airways as your partner)
2. Complete Enrollment Profile: More information here usually means more offers to view
3. Receive e-Miles earning opportunity: you receive notices via e-mail.
4. Complete e-Miles earning opportunity: View your marketing messages and answer a few questions.
5. Get your miles: Once you have 500 miles, REQUEST a deposit into your US Airways DM account.
6. Wait for the miles to post and the Grand Slam hit to be awarded

BASIC PROCESS FOR EARNING ONE GRAND SLAM HIT via E-REWARDS:
1. Enroll as an E-Rewards member: There are two important conditions
--(a) You must be REFERRED by a company to sign up to an E-Rewards program
(i.e. you can’t just signup out of the blue)
--(b) The program to which you are referred must include US Airways as a sponsor
Your referral will be via an e-mail invitation asking if you would like to join E-Rewards. If the referral is from US Airways… you are good to go! If it is from, say, Emirates or Hilton, you need to see who all the partners are for that particular E-Rewards program. Since you want GS hits, you need to sign up for a “program” that includes US Airways as a partner.
2. Complete enrollment profiles:
--These are a bit more involved than for E-Miles
--The more profiles you answer, the greater the chance of them sending you a survey invite (below)
3. Receive E-Reward Survey Invitations: you will get these via e-mail.
4. Complete the surveys: Each survey earns a certain amount of E-Rewards “currency”.
5. Get your Miles: Once you have earned $25 in “currency” you can redeem this for 500 Dividend Miles.
6. Wait for the miles to post and the Grand Slam hit to be awarded

E-MILES FAQ: (E-Miles official FAQ (www.e-miles.com/memberServices.do) )

Q: Does E-Miles have a signup bonus?
A: Yes – 275 miles. Per the e-miles website…

“The Enrollment will only take a few minutes to complete — and you will earn 100 miles for your time! You’ll earn an additional 100 miles when you enter the verification code from your welcome e-mail and up to 75 miles for completing all your profiles. That’s a total of 275 e-Miles miles!”

So, if you start a new account from www.e-miles.com without any referral, you will get 275 miles right off the bat. Thus, you will only need to earn 225 more.
(Other bonus referrals may exist and may have different bonus premiums: YMMV)

Q: How Many E-Miles Offers will I have to complete?
A: Each Offer earns you at least 5 e-miles, so the maximum you will have to complete is 100. If you got a 275 point signup bonus as described above, your max number of offers to complete is 45. Some offers can earn you an additional 10-100 points at no cost to you, so you could amass E-Miles very quickly. (You could sign up and pay for The Economist and earn 300 points at once and be done in one offer!) Once you get 500 E-Miles… either stop or start working on GrandSlam2012.

Q: Once I earn E-Miles, they just magically show up in my account, right?
A: NO! You must make a “request” to E-Miles to deposit the miles into your DM Account. I could explain the process here, but just go to the E-Miles FAQ. (Be sure to wait until 15 September to make a deposit!!!

Q: How long will it take for my 500 DM Miles to show up in my US Airways Account?
A: After 7-10 business days, the miles you earned from E-Miles should be credited to US Airways. After that, it takes precisely “a while” to show up as a Grand Slam hit.

Q: What if I already have an E-Miles Account?
A: If it is linked to your US Airways Dividend Miles account, then you are golden. Just use it.
If you signed up from a referral from Delta or Hilton or some other entity that is NOT US Airways, well… then you can’t use that account. Options include:
--Cancel that account and sign up for a new account at the same e-mail address; or
--Contact E-Miles and request that they change your sponsor (and lose some or all points); or
--Sign-up for a new account at a different e-mail address
You cannot transfer E-Miles points into a different account or to a different sponsor. So, if you have 495 miles in an account linked to Delta Airlines, you probably don’t want to cancel or modify that account….
(Please see the E-Miles website for all program rules. I believe the rules say there is a limit of one E-Miles account per person.)

E-REWARDS FAQ
(E-Rewards official FAQ (http://www.e-rewards.com/memberservices.do) if you are a member)
(additional info (http://www.e-rewards.com/memberagreement.do))

Q: Does E-Rewards have a signup bonus?
A: Don’t know. Maybe. Probably depends on the invitation. Feel free to post any signup bonuses you know about.

Q: What is this whole “Invitation Only” thing?
A: Per the E-Rewards FAQ…
“Joining e-Rewards is FREE and by invitation only. Our Sponsors send invitations to their customers inviting them to join the program. If you've provided your e-mail address to one of our Sponsor companies, you could receive an invitation to join e-Rewards.”

Q: How do I get an invitation? How, I ask you… HOW!?!
A: Maximize the number of relevant sponsors who have your e-mail address approved for promotional purposes. Like, oh, I don’t know… perhaps… US Airways Dividend Miles! (check their box that allows you to receive promotional e-mails from partners).
A: Check all of your e-mail accounts... even old ones you barely use. Search for e-Rewards. You might already have an invitation waiting for you, and you didn't know it.

Q: US Airways is not showing me any love… what other program sponsors are there?
A: OK, here we go…
AeroMexico, AirTran, Airfrance/KLM, Alaska Airlines, Blockbuster, Choice Hotels, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Emirates, Ethiad, FlexPerks, Golfsmith, GermanWings, Hawaiian Airlines, Hertz, Hilton, Iberia, JCPenney, La Quinta, Macy’s, PriorityClub, Southwest, Virgin (America and Atlantic)….
Might be more. Might be less.

Q: Can all of the sponsors give you an invitation?
A: Uh… I don’t know. I assume so. I have received them from PriorityClub, Hilton, and US Airways.

Q: Any other ways to join?
A: E-Miles will sometimes give you an offer for 100 miles to join E-Rewards. Unfortunately, it appears that E-Rewards Referrals from E-Miles do not have US Airways as a partner. So you can still earn E-Rewards currency, you just can't redeem it for US Airways miles.

Q: Hey! Somebody on FlyerTalk please refer me for an E-Rewards Account! Help a brother out!
A: Sorry, doesn’t work that way. Invites are not from individuals.

Q: I got an invitation from QQQQQQQQ (where “QQQQQQQQ” is not US Airways). Should I join?
A: Check first… an invite from QQQQQQQQ may not allow you to redeem currency for US Airways miles. It might limit you to just redeeming them for QQQQQQQQ miles in the QQQQQQQQ loyalty program. In summary, each invitation to join the “program” is unique. One invitation from, say, Hilton may be to a version of E-Rewards that has all sorts of partners to choose from. Another invitation may restrict you to redeeming currency in only a handful of partners. It all depends on the version of the program you sign up for.

Q: How Many E-Rewards Surveys will I have to complete?
A: It varies. Surveys are usually for around $3-6 in currency if you complete a full one. Sometimes they already have enough responses from folks like you, so they cut you off early and give you $0.25 for your trouble. Best plan is just take every survey they offer you and hope for the best.

Q: It always cuts me off early and gives me $0.25 for my account… this will take forever! What should I do?
A: Check more frequently for surveys. If you reply right away, you have a better chance of completing it than if you reply to a survey from last week. Do not wait even 10 minutes!
A: Make sure you have lots of detail in your profile.
A: Don’t just “pencil whip” the surveys. Sometimes they stick in a secret question in the middle to see if you are just clicking randomly or if you are actually reading the survey.

Q: Once I earn $25 in E-Rewards currency, 500 Dividend Miles just magically shows up in my account, right?
A: NO! You must make a “redeem” your E-Rewards currency for DM Miles. I could explain the process here, but just go to the E-Rewards FAQ. Be sure to wait until 15 September to redeem!!!

Q: How long will it take for my 500 DM Miles to show up in my US Airways Account?
A: After an “unknown period of time”… likely a week or two… the miles you redeemed from E-Rewards currency should be credited to US Airways. After that, it takes precisely “a while” to show up as a Grand Slam hit.

Q: What if I already have an E-Rewards Account?
A: If it includes your US Airways Dividend Miles account as a partner, then you are golden. Use it!
If not, you’ll need to be invited to a program that has US Airways as a partner.
(Please see the E-Rewards website for all program rules. I believe the rules say there is a limit of one E-Rewards account per person.)

Q: Which "inviters" have US Airways as a partner and will work for Grand Slam?
A: I can't say for sure, because each invitation could be different, but this is what I have seen:
---Does NOT have US Airways as a Partner: Delta, Emirates, E-Miles, Upromise
---DOES have US Airways as a Partner: Hilton, Priority Club, US Airways, bmi, ticketmaster, Club Carlson
---Worked for some people, didn't work for others: (none yet fall in this category)
(As I find out more info in this thread or from PMs, I will update this list)

GENERAL FAQs

Q: I am 12 old… can I join these programs?
A: Nope. Gotta be 18 years old.

Q: I am a legal resident of Andorra… can I join these programs?
A: Nope. For E-Miles you need to reside in the US as best I can tell. For E-Rewards, you can join from all sorts of countries throughout Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Oceana. I have no idea how active the programs are outside of the US, though.
(Andorra is not one of the European Countries listed, though pretty much all the others are!)

Q: Why are there some similarities to the E-Rewards and E-Miles websites?
A: Hmmm. I wonder.

Q: Will I make it in time? How quickly can I earn enough for a GS hit?
A: E-miles can be signed up for, and completed enough for a GS hit, in less than three weeks without you having to spend a dime. You just have to complete every "free" offer to you -- so sign up for spam e-mails, print coupons for KY Jelly, whatever you gotta do.
A: E-Rewards is more arbitrary. It could take 6 weeks... it could take 6 months. It depends on many factors. If you start before 15 September, you have a decent chance. After that, who knows. Might as well try, though.

Data Point: I earn $18/month on average from e-Rewards when I am actively seeking surveys. During GS 2010, I earned $51 in two months, thanks in part to a single $20 survey. I have also had months where I earned less than $3. So... YMMV.

(Note: The goal of this thread is to fully explain the E-Rewards and E-Miles GS Hits, so that Flyer Talkers could spend their valuable time on the other, trickier GS Hits. I will update this message to keep it current and relevant.)

Thank for the explanations!

I have been completing surveys on E-Rewards for the past year, just waiting to get to $100 to transfer to HHonors, but now I have a better destination for $25.00 worth of them! Funny thing is I had a big lag in invitations over the last few weeks, then I read about this promo. I'm glad for the lag, otherwise the credit would have been long gone.

Signed up for E-Miles a couple of nights ago and am patiently clicking through the links, up to 325 points. Pretty tedious but worth it!

I see on e-miles you can make $12 contribution to WWF and get 500 miles. That will do me fine I got so bored and frustrated last year filling out survey after a survey and who knows this might save a panda or tiger from ... something. Net cost to me is $6.60 after deduction!

Oops sorry seems to be $12 per month. Not sure if you can cancel after one month

Alumino, thanks a lot. This is very helpful.

Since I have nothing else to do before September 14, I actually figured a lot of this out myself, but it was great having you confirm it all for us GSVs (Grand Slam Virgins).

Since I just signed up for e-rewards (I went back through deleted emails and found and invite from Hilton), what are my chances of getting to $25 by November 14? I told them they could send me offers as often as possible. Will I get emails when there are new offers of do I need to check my account to see what's there?

Thanks again!

They send me an email when I have surveys but you should still log on and check. Also if people don't get an invite you can always ask someone if they want to trade a hit from some other partner for them giving you a hit from erewards.

Thanks. This is actually looking like it will be fun. Sounds like there's quite a marketplace for trading hits once this gets underway.

On e-miles, if you're a new account, I wouldn't worry about paying anything to get to 500. The sign-on bonus of 275 plus the fact that you get tons of offers when you're new make it easy. If you want to speed it up or feel you need to, there are sometimes offers to donate 1 time for 100 points (last year there was one with a minimum of just $1). Also, recently I got a 100 point bonus for ordering from vistaprint, which offered a free item for which I only had to pay shipping (~$3).

I signed up for this too so I don't need to waste time on surveys. The fine print says that you must not cancel the automatic payments before 30 days to keep the bonus points. This means you might need to pay 2 payments, total of $24. Make sure not to cancel before 30 days or you will lose the hit.

Should be...I can do this one for some other hit. Also I've been able to get multiple erewards accounts by using different email addresses for some of the hotel/airline reward programs, so when/if they send you an invite you can get a second account.

If your account gives you the option of redeeming $25 for 500 US Airways DM Miles, then you are fine. That means the "E-Rewards Program" that you signed up for includes US Airways as a partner.

Basically, depending on who invites you to join E-Rewards, you might have a different version of the "E-Rewards Program" that has different partners. My friend was invited by Emirates to sign up for an E-Rewards account -- in his version, there is no option to redeem for US Airways, just Emirates and a whole bunch of hotels and stuff. I was invited by US Airways to sign up for an E-Rewards account, so I can redeem for US Airways miles, but maybe not for other loyalty programs.

Bottom Line: Just make sure that once you sign up for an E-Rewards account -- and before you spend months taking surveys -- that you have the option of redeeming for US Airways Dividend Miles. Otherwise, you will get to $25 in E-Rewards currency, and then wonder why you went to all the effort.

You are "kind of" SOL, for that $25 in E-Rewards currency at least.

If it were me, I would not transfer them to E-Miles, because E-Miles is quick and easy to earn points with. E-Rewards is harder... I wouldn't want to "waste" my E-Rewards currency by turning it into "easy points".

I would keep those $25 in E-Rewards and use them for a different loyalty program. Or perhaps keep them available to "help out" someone on FlyerTalk.

I would try to get another invite to E-Rewards -- this time one that includes US Airways -- by signing up for as many of the loyalty programs as I could (Hotels, Airlines, etc.)

One other thing: Try searching your old e-mails on all of your e-mail accounts -- search for "E-Rewards". You might find that you already have an invite somewhere in your archive of old messages. I had two when I searched. Didn't even know it.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if USAirways is an e-rewards redemption option for someone who signs up for e-rewards through e-miles. I have a family member who is new to the FF game, and we have only been able to get her an e-rewards invitation through e-miles so far (signed up for USAirways and Hilton HHonors promotions/offer emails several months ago, but did not get an invitation for e-rewards through them).

In terms of the general question of which sponsors allow USAirways as a redemption option, I have surmised, from following e-rewards discussions elsewhere on Flyertalk, that in general, if one signs up for e-rewards through an airline sponsor, they only get that airline (or a limited set of airlines) as a redemption option. If people could provide more comprehensive information about which sponsors’ programs allow USAirways redemptions, it seems like this might be useful information for many people who are trying to get into e-rewards for GS hits.

Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if USAirways is an e-rewards redemption option for someone who signs up for e-rewards through e-miles.

I checked with friends of mine who have signed up for E-Rewards via invitations from various partner companies:
Via E-Miles: US Airways WAS NOT a redemption option.
Via Emirates: US Airways WAS NOT a redemption option.
Via IC Hotels or Hilton: US Airways WAS a redemption option.

So, according to my data points... try to get a hotel to invite you, or US Airways directly
E-Miles = NO
Emirates = NO
IHG PriorityClub = YES
Hilton HHonors = YES

I agree with the above poster, US Airways is not a possible award redemption if you didnt register under the US Airways invite.

On a positive note... I've been a member for about a year now and am making about $25 (500 skymiles) every other month. Does take up alot of time but heck, nothing else better to do at work.

In most cases if you are NOT already a member of either e-miles or erewards then the chances of you being able to get to the 1st cash out level in time for this yrs GS is very doubtful!

both of these companys dont send you a ton of emails they arent MYPoints, so I wouldnt consider either a sure Hit unless you already are close to the 1st cash out level

In most cases if you are NOT already a member of either e-miles or erewards then the chances of you being able to get to the 1st cash out level in time for this yrs GS is very doubtful!

Everyone's experience with these programs differs. Some get lots of offers and surveys from Day 1; others seldom get any.

My experience:
E-Miles is eminently do-able in even a short time period!
If you signup just by visiting the home page, you (currently) get 275 bonus points. That's over half of what you need. In two months it should not be difficult to get 225 points. Most offers are for 5 points to just look at them, and many offer an extra 10 for just printing a coupon or signing up on a mailing list. I would say you can ABSOLUTELY get a hit from E-Miles if you want it... especially if you start today!
In a pinch, you can get 100 or more if you are willing to pony up $8 (VistaPrint) or even 300 if you sign up for 16 issues of the Economist ($16?)

E-Rewards can be harder, I admit. But if you check for surveys twice a day and complete them immediately, you can do OK. I average about $18/month when I am actively seeking out surveys and finishing them right away. A lot depends on what type of "surveyee" they are looking for and whether you fit the bill (age, gender, race, zip code, income level, hobbies, etc.) I wouldn't necessarily COUNT on getting this hit, but I'd say it is worth a shot. During last year's GS, over the course of 2 months I earned $51. I got one survey that was $20 by itself! I was getting $2.50 magazine surveys every few days. So don't give up hope.

Again, YYMV. Perhaps I have just been very lucky with E-Rewards.

Agreed on both points. eMiles should be a cinch. With the bonus points to start you off, not to mention all of the eMiles that should be there waiting for you, you'll have no problem.

eRewards is a crap shoot. You'll need to get lucky on a couple of surveys but, if you do, you should be able to hit $25 without too much difficulty.

Can you explain to a Grand Slam Virgin why you are seeking multiples of this? Is it for friends/family or is there a way to use more than one of these, indirectly, for additional hits? Thanks.

Dont get near that amount, and unlike yrs ago when the min was $1 most today only pay .25 if you arent accepted. so if a person doesnt fit into what is considered the Prime Target group it can be very hard to get to the $25 mark in time

Its not a slam dunk and thats all I was trying to say. Emiles is easier but as it was posted youd have to sign up for all those SPAM stuff and maybe even purchase something in order to be sure you get the pts in time as well

Mike

I agree with both above posters about new signups for e-miles now being an easy hit, and e-rewards being more variable. I signed up for a new e-miles account with USAirways at some point in July, only did the profile surveys and the basic 5 point surveys where you just answer three questions, and reached 500 points today.

I've done e-rewards for several years, so I can't remember if I got more opportunities when I first joined, but I found there is a lot of variability in the number of surveys I get, and the number I can complete for full credit.

I still think it is a good idea for people to join e-rewards just before or during GS 2011, because if nothing else, it will allow you to build up for GS 2012. I can't remember if this was mentioned before, but e-rewards general rules requires members to use 75% of their accumulated points a month after the end of their membership year, which is based on when someone joins. The last couple of years, they have waived the expiration for me (and others), but otherwise, this would be an issue for me since my membership year ends July 31.

Emiles is easier but as it was posted youd have to sign up for all those SPAM stuff and maybe even purchase something in order to be sure you get the pts in time as well

As stated above, that was not my experience with a new e-miles account, but I get very few offers for an old e-miles account (different sponsor). I only have 300+ points since the beginning of the year.

Q: US Airways is not showing me any love… what other program sponsors are there?

(Note: This is the first time I started a thread. My goal was to fully explain the E-Rewards and E-Miles GS Hits, so that Flyer Talkers could spend their valuable time on the other, trickier GS Hits. I will do my best to update this message to keep it current and relevant.)

Thanks for this info.
I joined emiles - oh the waste of time! but the lure of a "hit" kept it going
On searching my old email, I also found that I WAS sponsored by US for erewards (in 2008!!!) the link was gone
Anyway even one is enough - a perfect waste of a good afternoon for a good cause.

From my newb experience:

I signed up for emiles early through Alaska Airlines. I'm hoping to be able to switch over my 400+ points to DM via a sponsor change. I hope it is possible since I don't live in a big AS region. I'm gonna ask really nicely. Fingers crossed.

I sifted through some old emails when this thread started and found an HHonors invite to e-rewards, which according to this forum should be solid. Joined and got $4 off the bat (as others have posted). Not sure if I will be able to get anywhere close to $25, since there have not been any new offers since my initial sign up. They do keep coming, right?

Anyone else out there with similar experiences?

One thing you might consider, though, is that a person can just go to the e-miles website (no referral needed) and sign up. A person can then pick US Airways as his or her earning partner. The signup bonuses and the initial set of offers should net you 305 points total right off the bat.
(Note: The e-miles rules say that you can only have one account per person)

Just to be sure, you can check by logging into your account and clicking on the "Rewards" tab up top. You should see a list of all the participating Sponsors -- hopefully you'll see "US Airways: Earn and redeem miles to over 1,100 destinations with Dividend Miles". Then you know you're good.

Not sure if I will be able to get anywhere close to $25, since there have not been any new offers since my initial sign up. They do keep coming, right?

Everyone has a different experience, but yeah... they'll keep coming. Sometimes you'll go a week with nothing. Sometimes you'll get 3 in a day. Sometimes you'll earn $10 in one shot. Sometimes you'll go a week and only get $0.75. You just have to keep plugging away.

There's only so much anyone can do. E-rewards invitations are hit or miss. But here's a strategy that worked once, according to a friend/coworker. Open a new HHonors account online. Call Hilton and say you just joined and you're excited to get started and incidentally you haven't received the e-Rewards invite you thought you'd get upon HHonors enrollment. They'll say it's not in their control, but ask if they or a supervisor can at least find out from e-Rewards if they'd consider inviting you. This is a long shot. But in the case I know of, the invitation appeared the next day or two. YMMV. I'd imagine this might work only, if at all, for first-time HHonors members. And maybe the timing was coincidental.

Please let me know how that turns out and I'll update the OP accordingly.

Direct from e-miles:

"As a Reminder, please note that any e-Miles® miles earned that have not already been deposited to your current frequent flyer account will be lost, when switching to a new sponsor. e-Miles miles are non-transferable from one sponsor to another"

And then, in the same email:

"Please reply to this email and confirm if you would like to wait until you make a 500 mile deposit into your Alaska Airlines® account or would you like us to switch you now to your XXXXX number, which means you will lose 10% - 15% percent of your current miles you have earned. You will also not be eligible for the 275 bonus enrollment miles. The bonus miles are for new enrollees only."

So that seems strange because in the same email they say you can't transfer miles, but you can "switch" to a different "XXXX Number. Is that not contradictory? I sent them an email saying that and we'll see what they say...

One thing you might consider, though, is that a person can just go to the e-miles website (no referral needed) and sign up. A person can then pick US Airways as his or her earning partner. The signup bonuses and the initial set of offers should net you 305 points total right off the bat.

Did anyone else who signed up for e-rewards through Hilton HHonors receive and email recently saying:

"We are pleased to inform you that you have qualified to receive a Bonus Reward of 500 Hilton HHonors(R) Bonus Points just for participating in your first e-Rewards survey."

I wonder if redeeming for the 500 HH points will lock me into redeeming with HH instead of US for GS 2011 (which was the whole point of me joining e-rewards in the first place).

Since you already did the 250 miles for free to Continental you must be familiar with the reward page. If and only if there is a US Airways option on that page then you can redeem $25 with US Airways.

I know some have posted here saying it might be too late to sign up for e-rewards and accumulate enough ($25) to do the minimum transfer. I signed up in mid-August and I'm already up to $15 and change. Of course there's no guarantee you'll get enough, but if you fill out all the info and ask for as many surveys as possible, and importantly, have them email you notification when surveys are available so you can do them quickly, I think it's very doable to work up to $25 in the time left (over 2 months).

But YMMV. It would suck to work up to $24 and be waiting for that last survey in the final days of GS 2011.

For e-Rewards: To find out if you can redeem your e-Rewards currency for US Airways...

-Login to e-Rewards
-Click on "Rewards" on the top tab
-Under the list of "Sponsor Rewards" you will see a list of companies.
--Is "US Airways" one of those companies?
---"Yes" then you should be ok. Just earn $25 and cash it in
---"No" then you can't earn a hit for GS with that account. Sorry.

For e-Rewards: To find out if you should sign up for an offer using a "Non-US Airways" invite...

-Who is sending you the offer?
--If it is Hilton, PriorityClub, or bmi (I think) = sign up NOW!
--If it is Delta, Emirates, or e-Miles = No joy! (You still could sign up, but can't get a hit in GS)
--If it is someone else... ????? (if you have any data points out there in FT land, please post 'em)

As always, YMMV -- this is just what I have seen and what I have read on this thread.

Unfortunately, it appears that E-Rewards Referrals from E-Miles do not have US Airways as a partner. So you can still earn E-Rewards currency, you just can't redeem it for US Airways miles.

I just sent e-Rewards an email asking if they can either add US Airways as a partner option for me, or if I can transition to a new e-Rewards account that has them as an option (dragging my balance along with me). I will let everyone know how it goes, but I don't have a ton of hope.

I hadn't seen a mention of this yet. I signed up for eMiles yesterday and have earned 340 miles between the sign up bonus and other offers. But I noticed on the left side of the page there are a few sponsers that award eMiles for purchases such as iTunes and Nordstroms. It's nice to know that if I fail to get the remaining 160 miles in a reasonable timeframe I can buy a few gift cards from iTunes to make up the difference and score the hit. At the rate of offers at the moment, I don't think that'll be necessary.

I stand corrected. It's nice to know that if I fail to get the remaining 160 miles in a reasonable timeframe I can buy credit with iTunes to make up the difference and score the hit. I still think with the current rate of offers ( scored 10 more miles since this morning) this will be unnecessary.

Today is the first day in forever that I've messed with emiles. I'm up to 260 already. I got an offer to donate $25 to the USO for 100 miles. It came with a free 3x5 ft flag. My parents need a new flag and retail is $15-$20. So I say good cause gets the money. I get 100 miles. And my parents get a new flag.

I hope the other 240 are easy to get. For the first time in 2+ years that I've even touched the account, I think I did OK. I also still have the adobe offer. After reading another post, I think I'll go grab it now. That will seal it.

The erewards is going to be harder. I only have 4.50 in my account. I just started it. Guess we'll see what happens with it.

I know I can get 4 east hits though:

emiles
credit card

shopping mall itunes purchase.

Now comes the harder parts.

I'm looking to get my E-Miles up to the minimum transfer level for the Grand Slam (500 E-Miles).

Last year I believe there was an e-miles bonus of some sort that brought me up to 500 in a hurry.

This year the email solicitations from E-Miles have been few and far between and I'm stagnated at 180 miles.

Is there any method of getting E-Miles to solicit me for surveys more frequently?

Are there any "silver bullets" (low-cost, high-return) for E-Miles out there?

If I go ahead and "buy" the miles I need, via a charitable donation or magazine subscription, are there any first-person accounts of posting times? I obviously need the miles before the end of the Grand Slam.

I read somewhere on E-miles' T&C's that miles post in 10 business days. I emailed them over the weekend saying it had been 10 days, but no miles...they responded back saying it would take up to a month to verify, yet by the time I got home the miles were deposited. I'm still waiting on the miles to post to my mom's account, so I'm thinking that it was the email to e-miles that may have sped things along.

When i went back to purchase it the offer had disappeared. :(

For those that are just starting off with e-rewards. I did a search in my inbox and found an email from last year with the invite link. Started my surveys on 8/16 and within the last 2 weeks I'm up to 30 dollars. Most of the money came during the last week or so. I would recommend to take the survey as soon as possible and at the end you may get another survey on top of that. The only frustrating part with e-rewards is that most of the surveys might be flash based because when I use my iphone it comes back that the device is not supported. I had to use an android phone and it worked fine. Other times I had to wait until I got home and then it would be too late.

Invites have different redemption options depending on who the inviting sponsor was. If you have Delta, it was probably from Delta and won't include any competing airlines.

Yes, just make sure you will have sufficient points in Hilton for the Hilton to US transfer to qualify as a hit.

You will need 10,000 Hilton points for a transfer to US to get a hit. (850 miles, a horrible redemption otherwise.)

I believe the most Hilton points you can get from e-rewards for a single transfer is 7,000 (for $100 in erewards currency). I believe you can only do this once per quarter, so if you don't already have 3,000 Hilton, I'm not sure this is going to do it for you. It's also an awful lot of e-rewards currency.

Note that even if you get to 10,000, you will only get one hit -- for a hotel transfer. You won't get the erewards hit.

sorry if this is a repeat, but i only had 365 miles in my e-miles that would allow a transfer to US. I saw an offer for Adobe Connect that gives 500 miles for a free trial. There was no credit card info needed.. just sign up and make sure the email used is the same as the one tied to your e-miles account. seems like an easy hit if you have this offer available to you thru e-miles.

I already have an e-rewards account, but my wife didn't. I searched my emails for another invitation and found one from US. I followed that link to open a new account in my wife's name with her USDM number. So if that works, it seems that an invitation is transferable. Correct?

The email also says, "In addition to your Welcome Gift, you'll get 500 Dividend Miles if you complete your first survey within two months after enrolling." Is this bonus standard for new members?

In addition, the enrollment link from the email appears to be reusable (though probably uniquely identifiable) because if I follow the link again from the email, I again see a blank enrollment form waiting to be filled out.

Nice! I had a Club Carlson account sitting on 7,000 points, so this is perfect.

Interestingly, CC only shows up as a redemption option on one of my e-rewards accounts.

In any event, thanks much.

I guess I'd also add that this sub-forum idea is starting to go a bit south, like I sort of thought it would. I already did my e-miles and e-rewards hits, so there's really no reason for me to be checking on this thread. I just got lucky, even though I'm still actively thinking about hotel transfer hits. I guess cross-posting and diligence are going to be required. I liked it better when it was just one thread and you could read the prior few pages every day. But, I'm a broken record on that subject -- anyway, thanks again!

Send them an email. E-Rewards knows who your sponsor was so if there's a glitch they can fix it. I've had positive experiences with their customer service in the past, despite them being able to actually help me. (To be fair, I was begging/pleading to let me be able to use US Airways because Northwest was my original sponsor years ago so US isn't an redeemable option for me.)

Just signed up for e-miles. In about 15 minutes of startup clicking, I have 305 miles.

My two purchase offers currently available to earn 200 miles:
- iTunes, $100 spend
- Nordstrom Shoes, $100 spend

Neither of those are useful for me. I'd love to get that Economist one though - I'd happily take 12 issues for $12, especially as I have some long-haul flights coming up where I'd probably buy a couple issues anyway.

If I don't buy anything, at what rate do the new survey offers tend to show up? Is 195 miles' worth in a couple weeks a normal pace?

If it helps, e-miles now thinks I'm extremely rich, have a variety of kids of different ages, travel like a rock star, influence a bunch of decisions made by my 10,000+ employee company, use a lot of makeup and skincare products, am itching to invest in pretty much any financial instrument that gets placed in front of me, and really want to buy a snowmobile NOW. :-:

I wouldn't bother spending money on this. If it's something you'd get anyway, then maybe, but honestly you may be able to use that buys anyone to get a hit in some other way. You should be able to reach 195 more in the next few weeks.

As someone who has been doing e-miles and e-rewards surveys for a whole year now, I found the snowmobile comment extremely funny! Apparently there is a huge amount of market research going on in the lucrative snowmobile field, because I've been asked about snowmobiles several times a month.

I think even more lucrative than being a snowmobiler is to be an IT professional who makes equipment and software purchasing decisions for a large firm. I'm asked about that by e-rewards every two weeks, but unfortunately can't say that I am....

The snowmobile comments are too funny. I do catch myself wondering sometimes which initial answers I think they want in order to qualify for a survey.

But if I were in marketing I would certainly be hesitant to believe the feedback from those sites.

I signed up for emiles a few weeks ago in anticipation of the Grand Slam. I was chugging along with 5-20 points a day and then, all of a sudden, nothing. I sign in and out, hit refresh, yell at my computer, and bang it against the wall, but nothing from emiles.

I'm starting to take it personally...especially because e-rewards was (suprisingly) much easier to get! I can always get an Economist subsription to put me over the top, but I kinda thought this would be any easy free hit. Perhaps pouring water on my keyboard will make something grow from emiles.

Any thoughts?

I'd suggest "A watched pot never boils" applies here. I was in the same boat and went with a donation to the Alzheimers Assoc to just be done with it -- I donate to them anyway every year with the Combined Federal Campaign.

But then, of course, offers started to come. Oh well... GS 2012 fodder.

The good thing about e-miles is that the offers don't go away (or get taken away) if you don't respond immediately. E-rewards, you have to jump on. E-miles you can take 5 days off and your offers likely won't go anywhere (unless they were already old).

You can transfer to multiple partners within any period of time, but each partner has its own frequency restrictions. Hilton transfers are still limited to once every 90ish days, for example.

You'll find each partner's redemption limitations by selecting one of their rewards on the e-rewards website.
Hilton -- 90 days
US -- 30 days
Priority Club -- unlimited
Alaska -- 30 days
Delta -- 30 days
Choice -- once per calendar quarter
Hertz -- once per calendar quarter
Club Carlson -- once per calendar quarter

If someone wants more than one transfer to Choice or Club Carlson, then they should be able to complete one transfer this month (Sept) and another in early October.

Two questions:
1. Is there any way to move over the $25 I have in one account to the other, US Air sponsored account?

2. Any suggestions on what else I can do to get more surveys from the US Air sponsored account?

Looking for any suggestions! I hate to let this "easy" hit pass me by.

That indicates to me something is wrong. Check your email spam settings if you've haven't gotten anything in months. If you're logging in to that account and not seeing anything for months on end there's some other kind of problem on the backend. Perhaps try emailing them letting them know that you have an account, haven't been recieving any communications, and asking if there's anything else you need to do. Some systems track IP's and do other things to check for multiple acct's, I haven't heard of erewards doing so but some kind of issue or conflict in the system might have arisen from your multiple acct's.

I would suggest visiting e-miles at least once every two weeks. New offers will arrive, sit in your "Earn Miles Now" list, and will eventually disappear. I have seen it happen two weeks after I originally saw the offer, but I have also had offers sit there longer than that.

Also, I believe your "Earn Miles Now" box can get full and thus no new offers appear until you clear it out. This is likely a YMMV thing.

I think that will work. I had a targeted email that offered me 500 US miles just for enrolling. I enrolled and found a "Free" option at the top of my list of options for US redemptions.

I'm still sitting at 205 e-miles! I'm tempted to spend the $12 on the Economist for 300 miles, but I'd rather not. If I can get my other e-rewards account up to $25, it will let me submit for 500 e-miles, which I'll convert to US Air miles.. either way I should be able to get this hit sometime. :D

This is the first time I signed up, so I got the 200-or so miles for signing up, but there are some good magazine offers that are only like $10-12/year that I subscribed for (since I had an interest anyway) for about 50 miles. That helped.

E-Rewards: I've been doing surveys for over a year (before knowing FT) to earn Macy's GC, so the account has over $175 in it. Good start for the grand slam, since I hardly have much hotel points and e-rewards may be helpful for that. For the 500 DM miles, redeemed $25 on 9/16, miles post this morning. (5 days for me, I guess they deposit miles to accounts weekly).

E-Miles: Old account was tied to CO, so I had to sign up for a new one for US DM only. Signed up 9/17 with a bonus of 200 miles. 4 days later, I am now sitting at 405. Hopefully can get the rest 95 miles by end of the weeks if offers keep coming in.

I have two e-rewards accounts. One is linked to my work email and one connected with my personal email. The work-linked account is NOT sponsored by US Air but that's the one where I get all of the surveys and its up to $25.30.

The one that is sponsored by US Air has been stuck at $11.99 for months and I never get any survey opportunities sent to me. I've completed all of the possible questions about myself and asked to be emailed as much as possible but no surveys ever come to the US Air sponsored one.

Two questions:
1. Is there any way to move over the $25 I have in one account to the other, US Air sponsored account?

2. Any suggestions on what else I can do to get more surveys from the US Air sponsored account?

Looking for any suggestions! I hate to let this "easy" hit pass me by.

Thanks!

GOOD NEWS! I sent an email to customer service and explained the situation. I asked that both accounts be combined under the one sponsored by US Air and they did it! Now I have $37 and enough to make the transfer and get the hit! Thanks FT (and Yinzer!)

For all those of you who are worried about not getting those last few emiles ... don't worry. You will get more offers before November 15.

I signed up for emiles for the 2009 GS and got enough to transfer.

Even better, I clawed my way back to 500 emiles by late October last year, giving me my 2010 GS hit.

Tonight, I just got back above 500 again, and immediately transferred for my 2011 GS hit.

It's best to check in with emiles once every week or two. Their offers often have a shelf life.

For my wife and kids, I started them out this year. Not sure what I was thinking last year, but whatever.

One is over the top. One is at 495. One is at 480. I'm sure the last two will make it.

Then, I just need to deal with them once a month or so to get them in shape for next year.

Undeposited miles expire in both e-rewards and e-miles. The policies are different. e-rewards has a use-or-lose policy, and the expiration date and number of miles at risk can be found on your online account statement.

And here is the e-rewards expiration policy from their member agreement (http://www.e-rewards.com/memberagreement.do#9):

Section 8) Expiration of e-Miles Miles

e-Miles miles not deposited into the Member frequent flyer or sponsor account expire one (1) year from the quarter in which the e-Miles miles were earned. For example, e-Miles miles earned in January will expire in April of the following year if the e-Miles miles have not been deposited. e-Miles miles earned in calendar year 2006 will be considered and treated as 1st quarter 2007 earnings.
e-Miles miles will expire if a member does not reply to one (1) or more earning opportunities each month.
At e-Miles' sole discretion, e-Miles may choose to waive or defer enforcement of the expiration of Member's e-Miles miles.

Each one can be ever-so-slightly different, so take a look (maybe you'll have to accept the invite?) and see if any of the programs are:

2. Something that can be converted to USAirways miles

checked email for e-rewards invite with no luck. So did a search on US Airways for e-rewards and found the following

As a Dividend Miles member, you may qualify to receive an invitation to join the e-Rewards® Opinion Panel.
As a member of e-Rewards, you'll accrue e-Rewards earnings for participating in market research surveys that have been selected to match your interests which can be redeemed for miles.
Membership is by invitation only. Update your profile to receive Dividend Miles News & Offers and you could receive an invitation to join e-Rewards.

I normally don't allow companies to send me invites (spam) so I did not have this option enabled. Changed preferences so they could send and will update everyone when an invite is finally received.

It's because you are in Japan. They check your IP address and disable the vast majority of surveys for those not in the US. If you have someone you can ask to do the surveys for you in the US, you will (almost certainly) find that the future offers will not magically be unavailable. I signed up in June (in the UK) and am up to about $19 for surveys which slipped through the net somehow. (If that works and you get enough $ and your survey completer wants to do a couple for me, that would be fab!!)

I signed up for E-rewards and E-miles during last Grand Slam and got the required amount. During the past year, I got $126 in e-rewards but only 420 e-miles. I just don't get many e-miles offers. I have my preferences set to email me whenever something is available, but have a feeling I don't get the email the majority of the time.

I currently have an Economist offer in there, subscribe for $12 for 12 issues and get 300 miles, so I might have to do that if I don't get another 80 miles in 6 weeks or so. But e-rewards are great. Always get offers and probably only take about 25% of the surveys cause I don't take any surveys lasting longer then 15 minutes, I'll take the $0.25 and not qualify! :D

Unfortuantly u have 2 curb the truth. When it asks do u work 4 any particular industry always say "no." Almost all of everything u just have 2 guess real good. If u don't smoke say that u do. If they weren't paying for my opinions, that would be one thing. Like the calls during dinner to "help me express my opinions to major retailers" - I can lie to those guys (but I usually just hang up).

But these guys are paying. And they aren't intruding. I really think they deserve legit info.

Further, if we all lie to them, how long can the program last? They'll be selling useless data, and who would buy that?

Honesty is in the eye of the beholder. We live in a world where honesty is rare at best. Most of the surveys I get the bonus from, I actually was honest to them, I bend a few things here and there but I know about the subject well enough that I can answer intelligently about it without being involved as they require me to be. I give them what they are paying for.

that's for e-rewards, tho. e-miles is another beast. all you're doing with that is saying if you're interested in something or not and they'll send you more targeted opportunities to sign up for stuff. you aren't really lying to them about what you think about something.

Unless I really missed it, post 1 could be updated with this;

My friend with a e-miles acct from last year having only 75 miles, tried to cancel the acct and sign up a new one (new mailadress etc), to get the the easy 275 miles jumpstart. No luck. He had to mail CS to open old acct.

So in anticipation of GS12 maybe best to do a few miles monthly:D

I had been locked out of my e-miles account for over a year. I had deemed it to be too much of a pain to try and work with e-miles to get my account re-activated so I could earn points for the GS. I ended up send an email to them and I was surprised at how painless it was to get it re-activated even though I had no clue which email address I used to originally sign up.

They also said that I could get my old points reinstated (270 I think) once I completed three surveys. Thumbs up for e-miles CS/

Just passed 500 e-miles today and requested the deposit, hopefully in time for the monthly batch :)

That's my plan for e-Rewards. My acct with all the hotel transfers, though, sends me nothing.

From experience I think e-miles points will be posted once a quarter. That means they will likely post some time in early October. Anyone who cashes in their e-miles before the end of this week will likely see this.

I did not search this thread to see if this was already posted so don't shoot me for reposting something that was already mentioned.

seriously, dude. you didn't search and gave everyone completely false information. it's every month, just as it's always been.

I cashed in E-miles today and received an email from e-rewards thanking me. Any chance it will post as e-rewards?

Has anyone transferred E-Rewards to La Quinta for the hotel hit? When I transfer to Choice or Hilton they have always gone through in a day, the US hit took 2 days. I transferred 2 days ago to La Quinta (brand new account) and they haven't hit yet.

I did. I can confirm that it took longer than the transfers I made to Hilton or Choice. I do not recall how many days it took, but it definitely took longer.

I've already transfered emiles and had written off erewards since I've been stuck at $12 for 15 days.

Went to use the computer in my parents' house and i caught a glimpse of erewards on my mom's computer.

me: You use erewards?
mom: Yes.
me: You have $250+ on here. What do you use them for.
mom: Nothing. It's fun to take the surveys. Do you need something?

I now have hits for the 3 accounts I manage. :D

Sweet! Checked my e-miles account this morning and had 3 offers in there. Another 15 miles - up to 440. Almost at 500. It's taken me a year to get to 500!

Signed up for emiles on Tuesday, already up to 465 miles. Come on guys, give me just a couple more surveys! I'd love to request my redemption before the end of the month.

I don't even understand how that is possible. I racked up 1000 miles in a week!

495 and I started Tuesday as well. Did a few of the bonus ones where you have to sign up with your email. Just use the email address reserved for SPAM. 1 more and we are there :)

You must have all of your preferences set to not interested or something. I wasn't getting many offers the first few days and went back into e-miles and changed everything in my profile to highly interested. I earned 500 by just trying some Adobe software; although, the e-miles for that didn't post yet. The other 500 I earned from the starting point of 305 at 5-10 a time.

As for e-rewards I am so damn stuck. I tried to tweak my profile to be targeted more often, which I don't think they like. I have received 0 offers for the last two weeks.

I've started lying on e-rewards so that I can qualify for the surveys. I'd been honest for about 50 of them and I've only completed 1 or 2 fully. Sitting at $20 now so no reason to stop. Maybe if I can get one of the 10$ ones I'll go for extra and get a hotel hit out of it as well!

Emiles is a lot easier and just takes a couple of weeks to get it up to 500.

Even $100 at e-rewards isn't enough for a hotel hit. None of the programs work out where you'd get enough hotel points to transfer to US Airways and get a hit. You'd need more than $100.

But it can get you a hit by a direct transfer.

Yes, if US Airways is one of your transfer options.

I signed up for e-rewards on 9/16 through an e-mail offer that promised 500 miles after I complete my first survey. The miles transfered to my DM account a few days later.

Would it be safe to assume that I got that hit??

I did a transfer from erewards to club carlson on 9/15 to top up the account to have enough for a US hit. It still has not posted to my CC account. Does anyone have a different experience? I just noticed my erewards and CC accounts don't have the same exact first name and I am trying to figure out if that's a problem.

Just an update to my own post -- my erewards transfer to club carlson on 9/15 showed up today in my club carlson account.

Just to be clear -- it was 15 days to transfer erewards to club carlson. I did that to get to 8,000 so I could transfer club carlson to USAirways.

The transfer from erewards to US was much quicker -- mine was 4 days and most are reporting about the same. So if you just initiated it, it should post well in time for the next sweep.
