Travel with Children - Flying RTW - Which Airlines Do/Don't Give Miles to Children

I flew LHR-LAX a few years back in Upper Class and was quite surprised to learn that Virgin Atlantic didn't give frequent flier miles to children.

I'm about to embark on a RTW trip with my family and knowing ahead of time which airlines do/do not give FF miles to kids is valuable information BEFORE one books a ticket.

Please ADD to this list.

I know that the following carriers DO give miles:
American
Delta
United
Continental
Virgin America
British Airways - As part of a Household account

The following DO NOT or have RESTRICTIONS:
Virgin Atlantic - from age 12
Quatar Airways - If the parent is already burgandy, silver or gold level (not Privilege)
Cathay Pacific - from age 2

QR allow children to have their own account and earn FF miles if their parent is already burgandy, silver or gold but not if just Privilege club
BA - children can be part of a household account

Cathay Pacific requires them to be two years old, from what I can tell, having recently filled out the form.

As long as you buy a ticket (ie not a lap infant), you get the miles on Air Canada. The miles don't expire in 7 years either like they do for adults.

Just sign your kids up and give a birthdate that is >2yrs. In my experience, once you have signed them up it all works fine. And no, there is no cross check between the birthdate you enter when you register them and the birthdate on their ID/passport when they travel. Once signed up, it just works, done it for several airlines now.

Finnair gives kids points in their Finnair Plus Junior program, and the points don't expire during their Junior membership. I have used these points e.g. to buy our two kids award trips HEL-NRT-HEL.

KE does not give miles for kids under 2 and gives miles at 75% of adult rate for kids 2-12.
