Hilton HHonors - Do they read my preferences?

I am a Gold member. I have my profile entered in the Hilton System as well as my online travel agencies sytem. The only think I ask for is a non smoking, king bed in my profile. It does matter if I go through my travel agency or hilton directly (via online) I am always put in a smoking room. Another thing. They have my credit card on file in my profile, so why do I always have to re enter it when I book through Hilton online? My last stay was in las Vegas Hilton and they didnt even have my hhonors # in the system even though I booked through the Hhonors website!!
Any suggestions on getting Hilton to pay attention to this (my profile)?!
I doubt that they ever look at your preferences. I always ask to see if they have me in a King bed room or not. Many times have passed when they put me in a Queen bedroom.

They (sometimes) read it. Last week they quoted my "request upgrade with fireplace" and the FD person said they "had no fireplaces". As for the cc number not being in the system, I often use different cc for different purposes. I DONT want a cc account on file for many reasons. Also it took about 5 years to once remove a cc from the HH system. Totally impossible to remove one from the Delta Airlines site.

I have the exact same problem, only I request king-size smoking rooms.
Almost every time I check-in to a Hilton (I'm Diamond), I am put into a non-smoking room.
Tonight, checked in to Logan Hilton and the clerk told me I had a King Size Executive Non-Smoking room reserved. I pointed out that my profile indicates a smoking room. So, I lost my room on the executive level for tonight and have to change tomorrow. While all I really care about on this short stays is a bed and a shower, it would be nice if Hilton would do the right thing from the beginning...
Wishful thinking...

I must say I have always been lucky - I am a Gold VIP and always put into a non smoking room, with king beds on a high level.
Just returned from a stay at the Sydney Hilton where I had a room on the 40th floor (42 floors in total) which was higher than the executive floors. I was told by the reception staff that my room was on the "panoramic level" and somewhat better than the executive level rooms.

MisterNice, that's probably the coolest upgrade-request I've heard in a while http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
It would be nice to have a field for filling in such "flexible" requests in the HHonors profile on a permanent basis... but then again I suspect that most FTers would agree that if they could just get the bed size/smoking preferences right in the first place that would be even better...
