:) When trying to reach the Finncomm web page the flybe page opened.
I found time tables from Helsinki for Trondheim (3 or 4 times a week, not sure), Umeå (3 to 4 times a week), Mariehamn (twice a day), Tartu (six times a week). The price for Trondheim was 69 €. The time timetables are not very well suited for connecting flights to Europe or Asia (leaving a little bit too early and arriving a little bit too late).

The routes from Tallinn will be: Oulu, Turku, Tampere, Vaasa and Stockholm Bromma. I'm still not quite sure, if this going to work. Twice a day to Turku and thrice a day to Tampere.

You can put your AY+ number in the reservation. They don't seem to accept Flybe's own FF programme. Baggage is charged.

Helsinki-Tartu is nice! Only ~40€ one way. And the reservation page even asks for my AY Plus number.

Does anyone know if this airline will be classed as a Finnair subsidiary, particularly for oneworld purposes? At the moment I don't get QF points for AY flights operated by FC as they are not oneworld. But considering this airline is now partly owned by Finnair...

I don't know for sure, but I think it is about whether a company itself is OW partner or not. New Flybe setup is not. This game is all about feeding AY, AY plus and protecting from LoCo expansion.

TLL-TMP lived around 2 months last summer and AFAIK less than 300 passengers per month. TKU was probably better, but 2xD is also a mystery.

yeah I would have thought the same- that fact that it's called "FlyBe" gives the impression it's not oneworld. That's a pity, they could surely get a lot more business (mine included!)

My experience with BA/Flybe, when Flybe bought the BA domestic carrier was that for the first 6 months you got BA points, but from that point onwards it was nothing. Flybe does have a FFP on their own - not that it's much use for anything.
I can see that happening that the domestic flyers would be forced to use the Flybe program not to give out too much OW statuses. Just my 2 cents...

You do get AY points on FlyBe Nordic flights.

AY Press Release:

"The new routes, which will also be included in Finnair’s flight schedules, will be flown as code-share flights. Finnair Plus customers can accumulate frequent-flyer points on the Flybe Nordic flights."

Said also on FlyBe Nordic's page:

Sorry, yes so you wrote. My bad. I'm afraid no Qantas points available.

Do I smell TLL being built into a Flybe CIS & Eastern European hub ala Air Baltic at RIX? Wouldn't be surprised if they open routes to various Ukrainian and Russian destinations and cities like Almaty, Baku and Tbilisi fairly soon from TLL.

Would be very surprising, if majority of the FlyBe Nordic domestic flights in Finland would not carry also AY flight numbers In which case normal OW qualifying points/miles should be awarded.

Not necessarily. Currently AA award miles for AY op by FC but BA do not. I don't know about other OW carriers. Let's hope that at least BA would award miles because they own a slice of FlyBe.

thanks for the info. Didn't know that AA credited FC operated flights but just checked and indeed they do! Wish QF would do the same but good to know about AA.

Very hard to believe, because Russia, Ukraine and others have control over traffic rights. I remember that even Blue 1 heard "no" in it's attempt to fly between Finnish ski resorts and Moscow.

Also I cannot see enough local's here to fill the plane. Transfer could help, but Flybe going against AY and HEL sounds irrational.

Had to keep my boarding pass and fax it to them to get the miles.

Ah, I have to explain myself a bit. Mainly as a hub for ex-LHR/Britain and ex-Scandinavia flights to the CIS. LH group members Austrian and BMI are dominant on these routes and Air Baltic has taken market share as well.

AY is fairly conservative in it's route policy and might prefer to use an LCC offshoot for more risky CIS destinations.

AA does, but keep your boarding pass. I've always had to fax in a copy to get the miles.

My point was that to get rights to fly from TLL to xyz Russian city, a company has to have 50,1% Estonian capital and the main hub in TLL. Personal understanding is that Russian authorities demand at least that much. I guess Austrian for example has just preserved the historical rights from Vienna and LH ownership has not (yet?) changed anything.

Flybe also said that Flybe Nordic has no intentions to start UK-Baltic routes. I agree with you that AY could use an LCC to open these risky destinations, but I can see HEL as the only option.

Yeah, according to the Russian interpretation, Blue1 is not a Finnish company, even if it might be incorporated in Finland and operate from Finland.
