Hilton HHonors - Availability of Hilton Award Stay in Europe or Japan

I appreciate member of this board to share their experiences of using Hilton HHonor points for a week reward stay in Europe or Japan. I have some HHonor points enough for a week stay. I tried in the past to use my points for my London and Paris trips and was unable to find availability at all for two month period (Nov and Dec). I would like to know if other members on this board has experienced any problems to use HHonor points for reward stays in Europe or Japan.

No problems using points for reward nights, in fact the Hilton Tokyo Bay has point stretcher awards available now for some dates. The only problem I have had was a stay at the Osaka Hilton where they did not upgrade me on my award nights, even though there were rooms available on the executive floor. (They said they were full, but the Hilton web site said there were rooms available.)

Maybe it was just the circumstances of this year, but when I made reservations for London this December, the agent told me every London hotel had award availability.

I had no problems in London, but I made reservations in January for two rooms in the first week of September.

No problems using points at the Barcelona Hilton this past September. Great hotel by the way. They treat Diamond VIP's very well.

I have been trying to get into the downtown Paris property for awhile, with no luck. However, the two airport properties are wide open. I just don't want to take the train in every day. But the price is right!

Just tried to get ANY central London Hotel for May 2002, not one has any availability.
