Residence Inn is a "higher end" brand than Hampton Inn, almost always more expensive and correspondingly higher quality given the same locations. Marriott's "corresponding" brand to a Hampton Inn would be Fairfield Inn, while Residence Inn more corresponds to Hilton's Homewood Suites brand.
