Hilton HHonors - Doubletree Anaheim, Melbourne Park Place, New Years Double stays

I am staying at the Melbourne Park Place Hilton until 1/1/02 and maybe stay at the Doubletree Anaheim for a few days beginning on 1/1/02. I read a posting many months ago about getting double stay credit on both the 31st and the 1st when staying at a Hilton in the same hotel. Is this still true? What about if I also stay at another HHonor property like the Doubletree? Would I also get another stay for the same date? I already booked the Melbourne stay but the Anaheim stay would depend on this answer. Otherwise, I would stay at a different hotel chain in Anaheim to earn more points.

I would also appreciate if anybody could give information about these 2 hotels?

If you are referring to Melbourne Hilton (downtown) on the Park... it's nice and if you're Gold or upper level you're prone to receive an upgrade.

Don't miss the Breakfast at 18th? floor... Very nice staff.

Can anyone offer advice about the Anaheim Doubletree?

If you are referring to the Doubletree Orange/Anaheim... nice hotel, friendly staff. I stayed there in May. As a Gold, I received breakfast coupons and room upgrade. Right next door to the hotel is "The Block at Orange", with a lot of stores and restaurants. Hotel offers free shuttle service to Disneyland.
