Hi

Does anyone have any knowledge or suggestions about this? I'm HH diamond, and I am in STH, Sweden usually twice a month for a week each time, but my company has a contract with the Clarion Hotel (Nordic Choice chain) which happens to be very near their offices. But, unless every other hotel in the city is full they won't use the Hilton Slussen. So, has anyone had any success - or otherwise - of status matching Hilton Diamond to Choice Club Platinum?

Choice Privileges in the US does provide status matches, so is that to whom you are referring as providing the status match?

The Nordic Choice Club is a program that is distinct from the Choice Privileges reward program which US members (primarily) use -- and the way to earn points and even spend points is different in each of these programs.

For my own stay pattern, Nordic Choice Club Platinum is more valuable than Choice Privileges Platinum as the former gives these benefits (amongst others) far more painlessly in the Nordic and Baltic countries:

# Complimentary shirt/blouse laundry (one per stay)
# Guaranteed room upgrade (room category to be determined on arrival)
# Guaranteed late check-out until 6 pm. If you would like to keep your room a little longer, simply contact the hotel reception on check-in.
# Guaranteed bonus point redemption. If our hotel has available rooms, we guarantee that you can use your bonus points.
# Complimentary fitness deals at all our hotels (except Comfort).

Well, I asked, provided proof of HH Diamond Status when asked and also gave a forecast of staying up to 2 weeks each month for the next year. I've been rewarded with the offer of gold, not platinum, which gives the following:
- Guaranteed room at your destination if you book 48hrs prior to your arrival

- Opportunity for early check- in
- Restaurant coupon of 125 SEK in Sweden
- Possible late check- out until 6PM
- Upgrade to best room category, if available at arrival
- Stay 2 for 1 in the week days
- Nordic Choice Club Mastercard with no annual fee

You can also choose 3 of these individual privileges;
- Free Pay- TV every night
- Guaranteed upgrade of room when redeeming bonus points
- 1 bottle of mineral water per night from the minibar
- Double bonus points every 8th night
- Or you can choose to not take any of these privileges and receive 20% extra bonus points each stay.

I'm a little nonplussed, as I think the HH diamond should be worth a platinum choice really, especially since the nearest Hilton has an exec club.

Should I argue the case further?
