I've got a very long layover at ORD on Tues the 6th. Arrive 7:42am & depart 2:35pm, so could meet people for breakfast or early lunch.

In talking with sweetwillie, he suggested lunch at 11:30am at a restaurant near ORD (TBD), which would get me back in time to catch my flight.

I can also meet folk for brekkie, but for now let's talk lunch.

UA just swapped my flight from an old config to new config, so there's a chance my upgrade might not clear. If that's true, it will be the first time since '96 that I'll be in E int'ly :eek:, so wherever we choose mine might be a liquid lunch to prepare me :D

Cheers.Cheers is right, I'll probably be still feeling the effects of our annual Labor Day weekend gathering during our lunch on Tuesday, as our group reverts back to our earlier heavy drinking ways (from our younger days) for the entire 3 day weekend.

8am, bloody marys & coffee
10am, first shot bell rings normally
Noon, lunch just to keep something solid in the belly
2pm, energy drink drinks
6:30pm, dinner just to keep something solid in the belly
8pm, sunset drinks on pier
10pm, night boat cruise drinks

rinse repeat the next day, throw in a waverunner or water skiing.

I'm happy to report that my upgrade cleared today, so I won't be having a liquid lunch. And it will be my first time in C class in UA's new configured 777.

Anyone else around for lunch on the 6th?

Today was overcast & cold so we left N Wisconsin early, just getting in.

I'll be the dead tired one, as it's looking to be close to an all-nighter due to clients still getting me info. Haven't packed yet, need to do work, & have to be at the airport at 6:30am. Yawn.

Well after a frustrating few hours having i-net problems in the RCC, had a nice lunch with sweetwillie.

We both had meatball sandwiches. When asked how I wante them (sauce, cheese, peppers, etc), I said no idea. Never had a meatball sandwich before. Both the waitress & sweetwillie looked shocked, and the waitress said, you're not from around here are you? :D :D

Sorry to have missed bdstone, who had one of the most unique reasons for having to skip out :eek:

You wouldn't believe it, but I had the dog at the Vet at 10:15a.m....after the doctor saw him took blood prescribed meds, etc. I'm walking him out of the room on a leash and he darts around the corner, catches his leg under the door and breaks it! Right there in front of the vet! :eek: So not only does my puppy have the runs, now he has the hobbles as well! :eek::eek::eek:

Too funny. I had the same thought re: voice when I read it. And agree re: the dog stories post-meal.

Post-lunch I guested an FTer to RCC - and when I went to front desk to meet him, looked on in amazement as the line in the club stretched from the c.s. counters out the door & down the concourse. HKG flight canceled. And almost had the same for my flight to FRA. 20 minutes in the air, hear the 'this is your cap'n. We're having some difficulties with xx and are on with maintenance. We'll know in 15 minutes if we get it solved or have to turn around & go back to ORD' :eek: Luckily they got it solved, and thanks to tailwinds we landed 45 minutes early.
