($200 US) Regards to all. adiutrix Aug 30, 11, 8:21 am There are a couple of nice hotels in the 8th like Ouest Hotel, costa around 85 Euro/night, Hotel Royal Opera 75/night, or Hotel Concortel for 160. The 1st is usually more expensive, there is Hotel Louvre Rivoli, rooms starting from about 185 Euro or Hotel Moliere for 150 or something like that. http://ouest-hotel-paris.com/ http://www.paris-hotel-royalopera.com/ http://www.concortel-paris-hotel.com/?ald=1_EN_P_hotel+concortel http://www.paris-hotel-rivoli.com/ http://www.hotel-moliere.fr/ Have a good time! Nanook Aug 31, 11, 9:53 am If you go to tripadvisor.com and search hotels in Paris, you can choose your top price and it will show you the hotels on a list or on a map, with the accompanying reviews from travellers. It will take a bit of research, but I'm sure you'll find something. robtroxel Aug 31, 11, 11:03 am Thanks, I have looked there and just wanted any 1st hand experiences as additional input. stut Sep 1, 11, 4:25 pm I recently stayed in the Residhome Paris Opera - a nice aparthotel (it was a studio, rather than an apartment) just at the back of the Grands Boulevards (pretty much directly over Haussmann St Lazare RER). Nice, modern studio, little kitchenette worked OK, incredibly friendly staff and well located. Room wasn't huge, but, well, this is Paris. Only downside was the immediate area feeling a little seedy (but not particularly dangerous) late on weekends. zoe67 Sep 14, 11, 7:55 am You could try Hotel Royal Opera or Hotel Massena. Both are in the 8th, close to Opera, and reasonably priced. Great hotels. http://paris-hotel-royalopera.com http://www.paris-hotel-massena.com/ robtroxel Sep 14, 11, 11:07 am Thanks for the hotels near the Opera area! They look good! corky Sep 14, 11, 4:16 pm In July of this year we stayed at Hôtel de la Tour d'Auvergne and I was quite charmed by it. Somehow we got a very large room (top floor w/ no view but I wanted quiet) and the staff was lovely. We didn't buy their breakfast as there is an excellent boulangerie on the corner. For 2 nights (2 beds in room) it was a little under $400. tcook052 Sep 21, 11, 10:03 pm FWIW I've been looking closely at a hotel near Porte de Versailles and Parc des Expositions called Hotel Home Moderne and it's inexpensive but gets realy good reviews. A little out of the centre of the action and would mean a Metro ride to all the sights but seems a good value with a simple single room going some nights for as low as 54 EUR/night. Interesting little find, and after a quick glance, I agree with your conclusions. It will take some hoofing to get back and forth to public transport and on to the major tourist sites but at those prices for the reported quality, it looks like a good alternative for the budget minded. tcook052 Sep 22, 11, 3:25 pm Interesting little find, and after a quick glance, I agree with your conclusions. Yes, Convention Metro stop is roughly a 10 min. walk away but from there it's no changes to get right down to Concorde which is as central as it gets. Having been to Paris before staying at a hotel off Les Halles I am willing to trade convenience for cost, though appreciate not everyone is willing to make that trade off. I'm looking forward to my stay but haven't decided how long it'll be, 8, 9 or 10 nights. ThreeA4Me Oct 5, 11, 4:42 pm If you have priority club points, the best value is 15,000 points and $60 to stay at Holiday Inn Paris Notre-Dame which is like an ALOFT hotel and is perfectly located. If you want luxury, the best deal is 40000 points to stay at Intercontinental Le Grand. If you wanna go cheap, than staying at CDG for $100 US via hotwire and the Hilton or Sheraton is way to go. NA-Flyer Oct 20, 11, 10:52 am Any suggestions for a good 4 or 5 star hotel belonging to a hotel chain near Gare Du Nord or on metro line B ? david4455 Oct 20, 11, 11:52 am We stayed at the Hotel Britannique, one to the top rated and reasonably priced hotels on TA. If you can get in it is a great choice. We loved our stay and the location was perfect for us. On the right bank in between the Louvre and Notre Dame one block off the river.... we liked it so much that we are going back next year and stay another 6 nights. Nugget_Oz Oct 20, 11, 12:49 pm Any suggestions for a good 4 or 5 star hotel belonging to a hotel chain near Gare Du Nord or on metro line B ? The Mercure is right opposite the main entrance. And its RER line B if you are asking about the train to CDG. The other stops further towards the river are Chatelet/Les Halles and St. Michel/Notre Dame which is where the previous hotel recommendation would require you to exit. idriveuride Oct 26, 11, 8:38 pm Use the search feature . . I compiled a LARGE list of accommodations all around 100E Jilz Oct 29, 11, 9:01 am Also look at travelzoo/hotels/international - they often have good deals on Paris hotels, today they have a 4* w/breakfast and a cruise for $219 zoe67 Nov 15, 11, 11:28 am Use the search feature . . I compiled a LARGE list of accommodations all around 100E I've searched for 'accommodations+around+100E' but didn't find the list. Anyway, I also compiled a short list, although it is not that large. They're all over Paris, not only in the 8th district or the first.
