I don't know if anyone hear knows the answer to this, but I thought I'd try here before starting my letter-writing campaign.

How easy is it for a non-profit organization to request frequent flier mile be donated to it for free travel?

Specifically, the Little League I help administer is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. It would be a terrific fundraiser to raffle off 2 round-trip tickets.

I was wondering if we could:
(A) Request an airline donate miles directly to the league from the folks who donate the miles to the airlines to distribute, or

(B) Request an airline set up an "account" for us where other travellers could donate miles. (Especially the once-a-year fliers).

Anyone have any ideas?

On a yearly basis Northwest donates 2 roundtrip tickets (raffled off separately) to a non-profit organization that I am involved with. I think all they ask for in return is a booth at our convention. As part of the raffle they also provide the opportunity to receive 500 bonus miles, coffee mugs, luggage tags, etc. I think the contact is with the VP of Marketing, you should try that angle.

Hi,
Have a look at my posting a bit further down the page and then check out this site: http://members.tripod.com/~SportAid /

If you have travel agents, companies, or individuals in your area that are willing to code all of the tickets that they buy on AA and Canadian, and they do enough volume, then I am sure that it would be possible to get you your tickets. If you are still interested after you check out the site, contact me at OperationsAG@taconic.net.

Good luck.
