Sure was - I provided that info. Why would you not read responses to your own thread? :(

Sure was - I provided that info. Why would you not read responses to your own thread? :(

It is because I have read the responses in the thread "BKK (Bangkok) - El Al Check-in / Immigration (Business class)" that I have asked the question in a thread with an appropriate title for people searching for this information in the future. ;)

The responses appear to be 2 for TG Lounge, one for common lounge (Responses quoted at the bottom of this response).
For example, It is not clear to me why "Houminer" would have received an invite to a different lounge than his colleague if they were travelling on the same flight.

Perhaps the differences are based on class of service, El Al Frequent Flyer status, Lounge membership etc. I don't know at this point.

I will be travelling in Business class on an award ticket issued by AA; I do not have any Frequent Flyer status with El Al and I no longer have status with any of the OneWorld Airlines.

Therefore, I opened the discussion on a thread with a proper title to try to determine if the consensus is the TG Lounge. At this point it seems that will be the case but the sample size is way to small.

Meanwhile thanks for your contributions to this discussion.

I was, however, pleased to receive an invite to the TG lounge, which is much better than the common lounge (Louis Tavern lounge, I believe?)

My colleague (GL) got a voucher to the TG lounge. I (Blue at the time with KD) got a voucher to the common lounge.

On the mentioned flight we were both in Y.
He had status and I didn't...

In BKK:
Those who fly Business class or has Gold membership (or above) get invitations to the TG lounge.
If you are King David member you get invitations to the common lounge.
I would recommend you to go to the common lounge - when I flew BKK-TLV in July 29 the TG lounge had no available seats at all (!!!!) and the common lounge was much less crowded...

Elal has a transfer desk that gives out the invitations. I doubt they open this desk many hours before the flight...
I don't think that the BP or PL card will be enough...

They use the Thai Royal Silk Business lounges, generally in concourse E.

The lounge attendants probably won't be helpful. Definitely get Elal to send you something beforehand.

In another thread we discussed tha ability to go to the TG lounage
without the LY invation.
I called the PL line to ask.
The first woman said No. I need to wait that LY will open their desk 4 hours before the flight, do security and only then i will get the invetation....
I said no way :)
Now i am waiting for another one to check

My solution is : the station manager or any one from the station will wait
When i land 3 days before and will give the pass for the flight .

I will update online

at the transfer desk you dont do any security.
just get a boarding pass + invitation.

instead of waiting for you, can't they just send a notification to the lounge to expect you and let you in ? or send someone to keep an invitation at lounge ...easier, no ?

In any event they have staff waiting for the incoming flight. They can easily give you the invite when you disembark if they arrange it in advance.

From my expirence:
1. Arrival on TG Flight from Phuket few hours before the EL-AL flight, Did the check-in at the hotel, printed the tickets.
It was enough to show in the lounge that i fly business in EL-AL and they let me in, Once the Transfer desk was open, went make sure everything is ok with luggage/security.

2. Arrival to BKK with EL-AL, 2 Days after went back from BKK on transfer,
Asked from EL-AL to prepare me an invetation in advance, On arrival to BKK someone waited for me at the gate and gave me the invetation for the arrival (had a connection) and also invetation for when i am coming back.

Stopped using the TG one (dont like it much), Going to the BA one...

I have found out that they ordered a small room in the Luis Tavern hotel inside the terminal.
The internet system shows that the room was canceled but they say it was not.

I arrived at 16:55 and went to the Orchid lounage with my Ly boarding.
The nice girl let me in and asked to bring the invation later.
Then I went to the Luis Tavern in the 4th floor G and got a nice small room.
I slept 3 hours ,then a one hour massage and back to the louange to eat and
Did the security at the transfer desk.
I liked this 7 hours lay over.
I arrived to Israel with no jet leg at all..
The trip took 30 hours door to door

About the flights. Tlv-bkk very good service, very old 767 .
good seat to sleep when you are on the first raw
Food...humus.inflight-IPad

BKK- Perth great service , new A330 very nice seats but not so good for sleeping. Very very good food. Inflight : 100 tv chanels and movies..
Peth to Bkk: exactly the same . I even got the same F/A

BKK -tlv : bad service. Very bad food .

So , next time you have more then 6 hours lay over call LY or the travel agent
And ask for a hotel
I didnt know about it.

Whats the difference between the first row and the other ones?
Are these seats similar to the 747,777 or to the 737,757?

the 767 seats are neither of both. i think there is a picture on elal's website or google for it.

LiorM - why bother going via BKK if you take the 767 ? why not via HKG and get the 777 and as a platinum you can pre-assign a seat on the 1st class section !

In my experience, sometimes on the 767 in C the seat in front of you reclines into your feet if you are also reclined all the way.
