It's a seat on an airplane. Select it based on your preferences. Window? Aisle ? Upstairs? Downstairs?

For a quieter flight I try to sit away from the restrooms and galley. It's your choice.

I did some research when I was supposed to fly it LHR-ICN. (Swapped to FRA-ICN to hopefully try the KE A380 on its first departure from FRA.) Standard 744 guidelines apply: upper deck is better than lower deck, window seats have convenient storage bins alongside. Apparently the exit row is great, but you can't get it except at airport check-in. Rest seem to be much of a muchness.

I've been flying with the 747 recently and I agree the seat upstairs are quieter,
As others pointed out, window seats have a big bin to store items; aisle in exchange, allows you to get up freely overnight without having to jump over a sleeping seatmate.

When I had my D class ticket reserved, I called the helpdesk and was able to reserve the seats of my choice even if no online check in was possible for me (D-class award ticket from another airline); you may be able to select the emergency row this way.

I tried asking for the exit row over the phone and it was a no-go. Email support said it's only doable at the airport where the check-in agent sizes you up and decides if he/she thinks you are capable of assisting.

Oh, ok... right, there are some implications when you decide to stand in the emergency row.
Disregard my previous post, then.
