Found on Travelocity 1 night only Sun. 10/2-10/3 - it's actually a nicer Vagabond.
#9 out of 36 hotels in Sunnyvale on Trip Advisor (www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g33146-d84763-Reviews-Vagabond_Inn_Sunnyvale-Sunnyvale_California.html)
Have at it!

I booked this hotel with the hopes of getting some sort of Travelocity credit. What is the history with Travelocity in these kinds of situations from people's past experiences? Can I refuse their offer (below) and ask for something else? I have no plans to be in Sunnyvale in October. This is the cancellation I received this morning:

We have received an intimation from the hotel that due to incorrect rate loading they are unable to honor your reservation, we can however secure your reservation at the 'Americas Best Value Inn Sunnyvale'. Can you clarify: Are you offering to honor your original booking rate at this other hotel? I would think if not I would complain in hopes of a credit. If they are honoring the rate however somewhere else I'd get my couple bucks back and call it a day.

I got a phone call from them today. They offered to honor the rate at the ABVI. I said I wasn't a big fan of ABVI so would they consider booking me elsewhere or on another date (elsewhere) in exchange for my cancellation. I'm pretty flexible.
Travelocity called back and said they would cover the cost of the original reservation. They originally stated this hotel was not willing to accept the price and that they were soon to be not part of Travelocitys offerings.
Nice customer service, and it never hurts to let them know what you would reasonably consider as consolation - sometimes you get it! I plan to take advantage of this room since I am way overdue for a trip to CA.
I booked this hotel with the hopes of getting some sort of Travelocity credit...
:td: It's situations such as these that give Flyertalkers a bad name.

I agree completely. Now where's that hockey puck I bought for 4.99 to get my 83,871 AA miles...:D

I know it's a very fine line, but the situations do differ.
