Other Car Rental Programs (ie. Alamo, Enterprise) - Can I book a 2-day rental, but show up on 2nd day?

Sorry, I tried to craft a search for this answer, but no matter how I worded it, I did not see an answer.

My question is: Can I book a two-day rental, but only show up for the second day? What led to my question is the rental rate. If I book Sun-Tue, the rate is a bit lower than if i book Mon-Tue.

Depends on the rental company (you don't mention with whom), but don't count on it.

Some rental companies have a strictly-enforced no-show policy, where your reservation is canceled outright if you don't show up within a few hours of scheduled pick-up. Even if they have cars available, the agent may force you to pay a higher walk-up rate.

Even those who don't have a strict cancellation policy are less forgiving after 24 hours. Some won't honor it; some will but only begrudgingly if they have cars available. And in all cases, the rate structure's minimum requirements must be met--many weekend rates (which you are probably getting if you book Sunday through Tuesday) require a two-day minimum. If you return the car after only one day, the computer system will likely disqualify you for that weekend rate and end up charging you for the higher weekday rate anyway.

Thanks for the reply. There was no specific rental company. Was just looking at rates and when I accidentally put in a Sun instead of a Mon for the first day, I saw the great rates. I was about to book when I noticed the date issue.
