Hong Kong and Macau - High Tea at the Peninsula

I'm making a 7 hour stopover in HKG. Friend is inviting me to a High Tea at the Peninsula.

I travel light and I don't normally have formal clothes, but not shabby as well.

Would I be allowed in wearing a golf shirt(with collar) and jeans (non-rip) and white running shoes.?

Yes, that would be fine I think. It's just one of HK's tourist traps, and that's pretty much what tourists wear.

It is not a High Tea it is Afternoon Tea. Two entirely different meals. Pet peeve, have fun and report back, I love Afternoon Teas even if it is horribly touristy.
