Hilton HHonors - Double miles with a twist promotion twist

Hi. Do any of you folks staying at the Hilton fly Alaska? I just spoke to Alaska and they said that this promotion does not cover them. Help please. I thought this promo covered all airlines. Even spoke to 2 supervisors

Well, I don't know about Alaska. I can tell you that I am racking up AA double miles big time.

AFAIK, this promo covers all 55+ airline partners. Have you checked with HHonors CS?

I sure it more a Hilton issue. The promotions says double miles, so that is what Hilton sends to the airlines.

It's not really up to the airline.

I spoke with Alaska again and someone there finally admitted they had no clue about the promotion. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention ( I also mentioned the upcoming double miles promo starting September 1). You would think they would give me some free miles for my hard work http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Before you get totally in a "twist" about the double points/miles read the fine print on the promotion.....
First you have to use your American Express card (the new promotion starting Sept 1st is with VISA-guess I'll have to apply for that Citibank Hilton Visa Card).
Then you ONLY get bonus points/miles AFTER the first stay and charge on your American Express (VISA). The first stay will start your bonus points/miles but DOES NOT GET bonus points or miles.
I called about this and the HHonors CS agent was polite in pointing this out... guess I missed the fine print.

AmericanFtWorthTX -- Actually, for the "Double miles with a twist" promotion, double miles bonus does not depend on the form of payment, only double HHonors points part requres payment with AmEx.

As I mentioned on another thread, I am also missing the AS bonus miles from this promo. The base 500 miles have posted in my AS account, but not the bonus miles. When I called AS, they didn't know anything about it. When I called 1-800-hhonors, they told me to wait and see if the bonus miles posted after the next "sweep" in mid-August. If the miles don't post soon, I'll contact them again. If at first you don't succeed...

Update: Hilton Honors now tells me that they are working on fixing their program and that the bonus miles should be sent to the airlines within the next week. They made it sound like none of the bonus miles have been sent yet for anyone, which seems to contradict some posters. In any case, now they say to call back in mid-September if the bonus miles haven't posted.

FWIW, my double AA miles for stays earlier this summer have successfully posted several weeks ago.
