Hilton HHonors - What is the 20K promotion?

In the most recent issue of InsideFlyer magazine there is an article on the AA 20/20. On page 30 Anne Leonard talks about a 20K promotion at HIlton that is separte from the EWRDC award. I tried to talk to someone at HHonors about this but the person must have been new and had no clue. She went to talk to a supervisor who said the only offer right now for 20K was to take a cruise. Since this looks like a stay issue and not a partner issue, I wonder if anyone has received this bonus and how they got there. Thanks!

See the AA forum. You get 20k miles on AAdvantage for 20 AA partner mileage transactions recorded between 1 May and 29 September.

If your enrolled in the EWRDC promotion you get up to 50,000 HHonors points for 4 stays withing a 90 day period, less points for less stays.
The American Airlines 20/20 promotions is for AAdvantage miles (20,000 of them) if you have transactions with 20 different partners of American Airlines before end of september. It so happens that each hotel chain counts as a partner. In other words, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy suites ect ect each count as a different partner.
So you could stay at 4 different hotel chains within the HHonors hotels and get the 50,000 HHonors points and get 4 partners for AAdavantage 20/20 promotion as long as you give your FF # when you make the reservation or check in. You can check your receipt just above the list of charges and it will say AL: AA and your FF #.
Plus you get points and miles for each stay. Then, if you use your American Express card you get DOUBLE MILES and DOUBLE POINTS after your first stay. Read your last statement insert regarding the American Express offer. Also remember that some of the hotels only give 100 points/miles (also found in your membership benefit book).

Then you can do a car rental with the hotel stay and get car rental points with your hotel stay and ALSO get a partner for the 20/20 promotions.... just take care in following the rules for the different car rental companies that are listed in the membership benifit book.

I got all that, but in item 14 on page 32 of the article it says "This will count as the fourth stay toward Hilton Fast Track to Gold and 20,000 bonus points will be awarded for this stay. The article then goes on to list another 6 ways to get up to the 20/20 promo. That;s why I wasn't sure what it applies to.

1st stay - 5K bonus
2nd stay - 10K bonus
3rd stay - 15K bonus
4th stay - 20K bonus

total of 50K bonus points

Oops! What a dunce I am http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I thought it meant that there was a different promo for staying at 4 different types of HH that gave you an extra 20k. Not that I'm complaining about the 50k I already got this summer thanks to these forums. Thanks all.
