I am planning on converting 10K miles to 20K points. I have miles in united, continental, delta. Also NW or USAIR, but I don't think I can use those. Which airline will convert the fastest. I hear 1 month. Is this true? Also any way to convert miles from spose or childrens ff accounts to my hilton account, or only my miles?

hindukid -- CO would be the slowest, expect 3 months or so. UA would be the fastest out of the ones you've listed (I'd say less than a month), since they do transfer electronically, while DL issues you a paper award certificate that you have to mail to HHonors.

In order to transfer miles from your spouse, you need to establish a "Mutual Fund" HHonors account, with all its inherent advantages and disadvantages.

I vote for Delta. Their cert requirement was a bummer - got lost in mail, etc. It took Customer Service with all parties to put together a vacation for my daughter in 3 mos time. CO, Delta, AA, and Hilton involved. Hilton Customer Service just took our word for it with Delta because Delta never did issue a subsequent cert.

I just did this conversion with Delta a couple weeks ago. I called Delta and they mailed me a cert which arrived within a few days. Then I sent it on to Hilton and it posted within a week of me mailing it..So it really does not take too long...
