I spent five nights in the BW Premier Hotel Slon in Ljubljana. This is a very nice hotel, listed as a **** hotel. "Slon" is Slovenian for elephant, and they play the elephant theme very well with elephant statues at breakfast and with a toy elephant (for sale) in the rooms.
My room was rather small: my Platinum status was not recognized at all. Other than that, there was nothing to complain about during the stay. Breakfast was included in the rate and was very good; wireless was also free for guests.
The Slon has a restaurant that served cocktails and very nice dishes: light pasta dishes for lunch and more substantial dishes in the evening.
The location is excellent: 10 minutes walk from the station, and right in the middle of the city centre (and next to a bus stop, if you want to go anywhere else).
I can strongly recommend this hotel. It was by quite some margin the best BW hotel that I ever stayed in.
