If you are holding a Silver or Gold card with any of the following airlines, Gulf Air will provide you with a Gold FFP card.

Etihad, Emirates, Qatar, British Airways, Jet Airways, Oman Air, Royal Jordanian, Turkish, Lufthansa, KLM, Egypt Air or Saudia.

To obtain this you need to send a scanned copy of your Silver / Gold card, along with your Gulf Air frequent flyer number to :

I'm so bit short from getting gold status, but then....I'm using them the whole time and just basic level at other regional airlines...can't they give me the ''poor fella'' stare and hook me up for Gold?

I have also had them match my American Airlines (AA) Platinum status with the Falcon Gold status. This will be much appreciated since they aren't a oneWorld member and this will at least allow me lounge access when connection from my AA flights to Gulf Air segments.

Sorry - from LH *G to Falcon Gold (to which, according to potakas's quote, they also "match" silvers of the specified FFPs).

And I'll shamefully admit to having applied for the match on the very same day I opened my Falcon account (for the purpose of having it matched). :eek::o:rolleyes::D

I have also been status-matched (from EK Gold) and found the process very quick and easy. I now look forward to sampling the product.

I e-mailed too but unfortunately got an out of office response stating that the chap is on holiday.

He left the contact details of three others though so I e-mailed them too.

I got the same message and waited - the next day he checked his email and sorted things out very quickly.

He got back to me and said:

Dear Mr Sixth Freedom,

Thank you for your e-mail… your request has been sent for Gulf Air’ FFP Gold card upgrade and shall get back you soon.

This still rages me! I wonder if I gave my hard earned GF Gold Card to RJ, EK, AA etc they would instantly give me a status match? I doubt it.

I hope GF when upgrading people, look at status miles (I have 5000 since January) as to whom they upgrade.......

I am not sure how widely this offer has been published, but I would be surprised if the numbers went any higher than the (very) low triple-digit range - hence, chances of finding more than, say, 3 or 4 matched Gold members in the BAH lounge at any given time are close to zero.

Was down to Blue from Silver, now up to Gold (or so the email says) as a match for my EK and TG silver-thanks for the heads up.
