Hello,
I have paid a booking confirmation amount on economycarrentals.com, and got a
B Economy A/C
Ford Fiesta, Citroen C3
( or similar )
car for a period for 9 days.
Pick up is in Vienna (end august) and drop is in salzburg airport.

In the US, normally one class upgrade is given, esp if you purchase insurance.

For this rental also I would like to purchase "Collision damage waiver + Tire and windshield damage insurance).
I am okay with a excess of 300 EU on collision damage, but tire and windshield damage is a must.

So what are my chances of an upgrade?

I will try and get a diesel (doing lot of driving in switzerland, some italy, germany) due to better fuel efficiency.
But I am hoping we would get a nicer diesel (90 hp atleast).
Our pickup is around 8am, so I guess its too early for them to run out of cars, but since its the beginning of the week, they may run out of all small cars.

Another worry, they upgrade me to a petrol BMW or something (will hike the trip expense to the roof).

So whats your experience with sixt vienna, what are the common cars in their fleet.

I think those cars will have the Austrian toll sticker, but if I am lucky, its possible to get a car with the Switzerland sticker already attached? Or am I hoping too much. Anyways, it would mean 40 CHF extra for me if the car does not have the sticker.

So any suggestions on what insurance to purchase(my CC only has personal accident insurance for me and my co-passenger).
The rate says third party insurance is already there in the car.

I would also like to ask whether the car will be equipped with the orange jackets and the warning triangle. Anyways, I will be carrying the safety jackets with me. Orange or Green? Or it does not matter?

Any extra tips you will like to give me?

Hi tsk1979,

Gary has asked me to have a look into your query for you.

I hope the following helps to answer your queries however if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Your reservation currently includes Reduced Liability (incl. Theft protection) which removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft. The vehicle group you have reserved is an economy car which means your excess is 720 Euros.

In Austria it is possible to take Top Cover LDW and Top cover Theft Protection which reduces on an economy size vehicle your excess from 720 Euros to 360 Euros. Please be aware that these 2 different top cover insurance options are at an additional charge which can be added via us at Sixt head office or at the branch on collection.

We also offer in Austria Tire and Glass coverage which provides cover against the consequences of damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and back window. This can also be chosen now or on collection of the vehicle.

When hiring in Austria the vehicles can be taken into the following countries: Andorra, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatikan City.
Please be aware that for travels into Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithunia, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia a charge of EUR 9.- per day, max. EUR 31.- per rental applies.

We can request a diesel vehicle however we are unable to guarantee the fuel type due to demand and availability. If you would like me to request a diesel vehicle please don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail and I will make the request for you.

When hiring in Austria the toll sticker will be on the vehicle however we cannot provide the toll sticker for Switzerland for when you travel there so you will be required to purchase this during your rental.

The vehicle will come including the warning triangle when hiring in Austria.

Your reserved vehicle category is an ECMR which is a Peugeot 207 or similar which is a 5 seater, 3 door car, manual transmission including air conditioning.

Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Marie
