Caribbean - shopping for jewelery in st. Martin.

I am looking for some advice. We are taking a family trip to St. Martin in December and considering buying some jewelery. Is this a good idea? Does anybody have any reputable names of shops there. Thank you

I can second the reco on Ballerina. We bought some jewelry at their St. Thomas location a couple of years ago. We never felt pressured and got a great pair of earrings for a fair price.
