I am sure it is, but I don't have the answer. Why not post this question on the CruiseCritic.com Ports of Call Forum? Scroll down and then check the United States link and you will find 'East Coast Departures' and ask there. On the first page there is also a 'search' area so it might already be answered. Lots of activity on that Forum so if someone
here can't answer it, you can find the answer there.

Public transport will leave you .8 mile from the terminal in an area that may not be safe for walking with luggage - I don't know. I'd take a cab at some point.

The closest train stop to the Brooklyn Terminal is Smith-9th Street on the F. Its about a 20 minute walk at a brisk pace, which, depending on the time of year and quantity of luggage, may be inconvenient. The neighborhood is not the greatest but also not the worst, although you will stand out as a non-local tourist/easy pickings hauling your luggage. It may be worth it to cab it from Penn Station, and you can save a bit of money if you call one of the livery cabs instead of taking a yellow cab (livery cab = no meter, they just quote you a price). I live in Brooklyn and can give you the number to the cab I usually call in these situations. Alternatively, you may want to take a cab (probably livery because yellow cabs dont usually drive around looking for fares in Brooklyn) from the Smith-9th Street Station, though that means that you will have gone up and down quote a few sets of stairs to get from Penn Station to 34th St Station, and then to get out of the Smith-9th Station. It should be a 10 dollar ride from Smith-9th, and about 30 from Penn Station in a livery. Yellow cab depends on traffic.

Take a cab. You are booking a nice cruise dont hassle getting to it.
I drove over there and there are definatly some sketchy areas that you dont want to be walking in near by

Absoluelty take a cab or livery service from Penn Station. I live in Brooklyn and that's the best advice. There are no yellow cabs in Brooklyn if you decide to take the subway there. Yellow cabs are almost entirely found in Manhattan.
Good luck
